I'm just bored, and playd a song on expert in practice mode (cuz it's f..... hard to play with a laptop). when i finished, i got this error message: EDIT: When i tried to move the menus around with the menus.xml, i could only get them from center and to the down right. 0 = center and 1 = just outside the screen. 0.5 = half way out. Negative value resulted in errormessage on launch. EDIT2: And i would really like to know how to convert a .ttf into a .xnb. I also want the possibility to insert a scrolling and repeating image for the setlist. and options to change the colors of the text(not as much as the to first ones, but still..)

I don't know if this would be considered a bug or not, but is there a way that the game can be set to prevent the screen saver from kicking in. I'm using the PS 2 Rock Band Stratocaster and everytime I play I end up forgetting to turn off the screen saver or it boots me from the game and it crashes.

lol. I try to remember as much as possible. Guess it can just be a suggestion because it can be a hassle to turn it on and off.
BTW, is there a way to set buttons manually. I've looked in the config file and the inputs are all coded up. I want to set the strum bar as down or button 7, but I don't have control of button 7.

? just press that button in the input select screen.

Note: I don't have control of the button. Using the Rock band guitar, the "solo" notes at the base of the neck use two buttons, the Fret buttons & button #7 (nearly at the same time). The problem is that the 7 doesn't come before the frets, so there's no way to hit button 7. I wanted to see if there would be a possibility of having the lower notes (by use of the config, no modding) strum when hit. I'm sure it can work if i can get that 7 in the config.

Not sure if this has been reported yet, but Guitar Hero 3 packs ripped for Frets on Fire, don't work properly in this new Guitar Star (not sure if they worked in the old Guitar Zero or not).
When the songs play, it doesn't play the rhythm track (I'm guessing the code only currently allows for guitar and song ogg files?).

Yeah the rythm track isn't supported, you have to merge it with the song.ogg.

Is that something that will be supported in the future possibly?
As for the merging of tracks, what would I use (Software-wise) to do that? Any suggestions?

I had the usual troubles, but after browsing the forums a bit i got it up and running. It's great!
dat a midi support! YAAAAAAAY!
The song previews play almost instantly, and loading a song is just as fast. It looks great too, nice and smooth.
I eagerly await a non-beta release.
Thank you for your hard work callisto!

First off, I would like to say great job to Castillo.
However, the fretboard on my game is really really jumpy and skips around a lot to the point where the game is unplayable. I know it isn't because of too many programs or whatever. These are my specs:
Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2gb ddr2 800mhz RAM 256 mb Radeon HD3850 graphics card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh yeah, I'm using Windows XP with an early release of Service Pack 3.

Hmm your specs seem good enough... Maybe its the SP3 early release? Like Vista SP1 RC really screwed up my computer.

Some custom songs are out of sync. Other than that I've had no problems.

i used an xvid encoded avi 320x240 with default settings in the xvid control pannel @ 25fps it displayed ok but the entire video is flipped horizontally in the game
the result was quite nice but i had to turn it off as the game becomes unresponcive after a while, at first it is fine, can play single player or multiplayer without any slowdown, but sometimes after a song has finished and i go back to the song list the game will just start to lock up and run really really slow even just in the menu screen, have to close the game and reopen to get things back to full speed
hoping that issue can get found as it certainly does look good with the video

Hey... if i put option "Folders" in <songlist></songlist> in config.xml, the setlist alphabetical order changes to Z - A. Why is that? Would be easier if it would stay at normal order..
