In this thread we state problems we have had with the game, glitches that you want fixed, bugs you may have found and any other bits and peices you want to alert to teh authority of awesome.
Ok first off for me: (im keeping in mind this is a beta)
-Fretboard movement on hard is terrible jumpy. Looks like its 1 pixel thick.
-Models need work (notes, start power notes and meters) (please pump out some new ones asap omg)
- No ingame options as of yet, an explaination of graphical options would nice. I want mine to look super dooper. Also an explanation of the config xml.
-All models had jagged edges, not smooth at all, im not sure what the problem here is but.
Report away people.

- Transparent models (shaders 2.0? Are they really necessary?)
- Custom songs don't work quite yet (I tried some Megadeth and it crashes every time)

cant use my ps2 guitar with the super dual box pro, because theres always a button held. whether it be left on the control pad, or button 16 when in button mode. cant change it at all. so when i try and map it in guitar star it auto pushes the held button.

i fixed my own problem, i just simply plugged in a ps2 controller and found out which buttons corresponded to the guitar buttons. mapped them in game with the controller and saved the settings. then unplugged the controller plug in the guitar and kazaam. works great. although.... when trying to map the buttons, i had to hold the corresponding button before i pressed enter in the options. works fine though.

Unlimited star power- Once you have collected star power twice (star power is ready), you can activate it whenever you want, even if there are no more star power phrases in the song.
Edit: I just checked and callisto already updated/fixed this. Aw well hehe.

the game changes the note chart, even drops a bunch of notes completely. most of the chords are now reg. notes in most of my songs. ho/po changes in the songs.

synchadjust command doesnt work, i just added silence (in miliseconds) to the song to fix the problem. EDIT: when fixin your song, 1000 miliseconds = 1 second. so if synchadjust is +1.8, its 1800 miliseconds. im not so sure on taking away from the song, except for www.nukular.ch/foftools

With the original version, I had the invisible notes but everything else ran smooth as butter. The fixed version that got uploaded, though, doesn't run at all - I double-click the icon and nothing happens.

GH3 songs from here don't work but fof ones do. The notes look really jagged like hzac said. The game crashes if the hit down repeatedly quickly when you first go the the setlist. No whammy yet but there is a pitchshift in the config. Setlist won't scroll fast like in GH with my xplorer. Has anyone figured out how to mod stuff, change the stage, etc.? (yeah i know its a beta and i'm happy ) Merry Christmas people!

Type: Crash Accessible: Easily Description: If you click multiplayer, it passes a results screen. Then you choose your difficulty/play style. If at that select screen you press Back, you will see a "dummy song" results screen. There, pressing anything other than "Back" will crash the game.
TL;DR Cheat code to crash the game! DOWN,DOWN,G,R,G

-In multiplayer the notes on the fretboard do not line up with the buttons or the lines. They are a tad off to the right.
-PS2 controllers (using usb adapter) do not work. Only work using a keyboard emulator like joy2key. xbox/GH3 for PC guitar works great.

Well, only the Guitar Hero I MIDI's work fine, the DAT's work but alot of your chords get turned into singles.

@gameking I fixed your bug.
@people with Controller probs I tried using an X-Box Controller and a PS2 one with USB adapter, both are working. I can't try a configuration that I don't own, therefore I'd suggest people who are having controller probs to use one of the many joy2key programs out there.
@people with note-bugs As for the non-working songs... the game is primarily targetting the FoF file format, because it contains much more info than the .dat format. Also, I've never quite found a real spec for the later, but if you post the broken songs (incl. a specific description of which note is wrong) I'm sure that something can be done.

The whammy bar doesn't work with my Xbox360 X-plorer guitar and also the Powerstar tilt doesn't work either. Everything else is perfect
If there is a fix or any workaround suggestions, please post
Thanks

1st time poster, long time site visitor: After a few hours of upgrading, uninstalling, reinstalling all of the XNA, .net stuff etc I FINALLY got it working.
Now it runs as smooth as silk on my machine, but I'd like to know how to change the resolution. It's at fullscreen but it seems to be running at a really low res... but that's not really an issue, just being curious
few bugs I've found. They may have already been addressed, not too sure: on the Xbox 360 X-Plorer I've noticed that when I press the "back" button it exits the program immediately. The whammy bar isn't working either.
The Rock Band 360 controller DOES work
Also, maybe it's not implemented yet but when I try doing multiplayer the program freezes and exits.
Now that I have the program running I'm really interested in doing some artwork for the game. What do I need to do to edit image files and make them "xnb" files?

@resolution-related questions The low resolution is a format that the 360 (i.e. the TV) seems to like At this very moment, there's no way to change it, but it's gonna be possible later on. Currently, I'd like to focus on killing bugs and adding crucial features. That's also why I'd still like someone to elaborate on that .dat-files-notes-problem a bit. @junta When you say that the back-button on your controller is exitting the app, do you mean only in the main menu or in ANY menu? @modders I haven't tested it, but I think applications like the XNA Content Builder should enable you to build .xnb files without having to use XNA Express edition. It seems to be ok with the Rock Band controller though. I can't say that I'm 100% positive but I do know that at any point when I press the Xplorer "back" button it shuts down the application. I was able to actually map the Rock Band controller's "back" button without it breaking the program

Couple of other things I've noticed so far:
the song list is reverse alphabetical. My list starts with Ziggy Stardust and ends with 18 & Life. Also there are a few songs that don't make sense as to why they're in the position they're in. Songs like Ruby, Through the Fire and Flames, and a few others are closer to the A's and B's than where they obviously should be
Also, I think this has already been posted but Star Power seems to be available at any time after the 1st tme you get it regardless of whether it's charged up or not
Finally: When you're supposed to go to "8x" on the multiplier the box turns blue but there's no numerical value on there. It goes from 2x to 4x to blue box
