Sorry guys, but I can't continue with this project, for various reasons. I will give you everything that I have completed, including the songs I've gotten from canped. A lot of thanks to canped for trying to help, by the way. If anyone wants to continue the project PM me and I'll take these down and give em to you so you can start back up trying to make the setlist. But if nobody feels the need, I'll just leave these songs here. Every song should be perfectly fretted in at least Expert with star power, except The Devil Went Down to Jamaica and Pulse of the Maggots. I wasn't totally done with those yet. Devil is pretty bad and Pulse of the Maggots just has some sync issues that need to be delt with. I'm gonna post the songs in order of difficulty (in my opinion), so if you want something really hard go and get the bottom few songs. Hope you enjoy these songs, at least. Sorry I couldn't finish the project. Seeya, guys. Geek Stink Breath - Green Day Really repetitive. Not much here to slip up on except a few unexpected alt strums. Download: www.megaupload.com/?d=1V42YZ0PHeels Over Head - Boys Like Girls Kinda fast, tons of chords. But that's about it. Download: www.mediafire.com/?cll1dzqrfwyAdam's Song - Blink 182 The main verse where it's like "R O B R O B" and variations of that can be messy at times. Lots of chords. Download: www.mediafire.com/?lmywi19ymmxPapercut - Linkin Park Can be tricky with the intro thing. Download: www.mediafire.com/?0tmm2dwyzyyBeat It - Michael Jackson Really simple riff for a while. Only slip-up might be the kinda fast solo, but then again, you'll be loaded with star power. Download: www.mediafire.com/?bt3vxj2qudzWelcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance Really fast with some random unexpected tough parts. Download: www.mediafire.com/?tqxftxe9owyLight With a Sharpened Edge - The Used A fantastic song. A few really fast mini trills and strange hammer-ons. Download: www.mediafire.com/?waziljjbdunWynona's Big Brown Beaver - Primus Really wierd. Whacky solo, funky strummy-ness. Download: www.mediafire.com/?gx1ydimz3nzDeer Dance - System of a Down Like canped's usual-ness, really wierd, hard to master. Download: www.mediafire.com/?yfzcj4ewnmtThe Devil Went Down to Jamaica - Weird Al Yankovich This isn't even complete, but it's still really weird and hard to keep up with. Download: www.mediafire.com/?ngzi5mzjg5tBlack Dog - Led Zeppelin Sorta tough riff, decently quick solo. Download: www.mediafire.com/?xxgadoekd3vCalling All Cars - Senses Fail Really fast, ending insanity with the chords, sudden crazy scale. Download: www.mediafire.com/?dmmjtwbmbuj Fade to Black - Metallica Long semi-difficult solo. The rest of the song has some tough chord changes and a quick verse. Download: www.mediafire.com/?ctmcpbtziplMr. Crowley Boring as hell until the main verse. Then the insane solo begins. Download: www.mediafire.com/?ygk332jdht9Icky Thump - The White Stripes Something here for everyone to mess up on. Tough chords, fast hammer-ons, a tough solo. Download: www.mediafire.com/?mzvujo2h2dcDarkest Hour: Beginning of the End - Doomsayer Some really tough chord changes. TTFAF intro-like section. Fast solo, crazy crazy verse. Download: www.mediafire.com/?xxzgyymguzwHallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden Stupid solo. Wierd scale section, fast gallop chords. Download: www.mediafire.com/?jmgauntpxsxFor The Love of God - Steve Vai Really long instrumental with solos abound. Download: www.mediafire.com/?mntp9n2dxk3Pulse of the Maggots - Slipknot Insane strumming patterns combined with tough chord changes and scales. Not to mention the solo is long and crazy, and then there's the outro that's just as crazy if not more. Download: www.mediafire.com/?mozyxk1tdy1Eruption - Van Halen Crazy fast solo leading up to the infamous eruption solo containing the fastest triplets you can imagine that switch into different colored notes and you just can't keep a combo. You'll definitely need all the star power I give you to get past this monster. Download: www.mediafire.com/?m4j1pidzj5xNo Boundaries - Michael Angelo Batio There's just...no way. Fastest solos ever, no breaks, and it's over three minutes long. You'd have to be a Guitar Zero god to get past this one. Download: www.mediafire.com/?3dlzyitcieoIt would be cool if people posted some videos of you passing No Boundaries, if you can. Cause I wanna see that. >_>

I don't even know if it will be stickied. I just want it to be so mroe people will see the thread, more people feel like the thread is important, and more people come to read the thread, meaning a higher possibility that I'll get some help with this. Yep.

I think versions of a lot of these exist already. Check the FoF Wiki.
I'd like to do
Nirvana- but not smells like teen spirit, everbody's sick of that song. How about In Bloom?
Bowie- Space Oddity
QOTSA- No one knows (I think it's already been done)
Zepplin- Black Dog and Achilles
PinkFloyd- Have a cigar (prob already a version, too)
SOAD- BYOB (definitly already a version)
Buckethead- Notingham lace
Electric Six- Gay Bar
Primus- Wynonna
I also think Time is running out and Bullet with Butterfly wings are bad ideas because the verses are just bass and the choruses are just 4 chords in both songs.
BUT I'm really busy with my SNES pack a.t.m so I can do them when its done or if I need a break from chioptunes...

I might try to find a better Smashing Pumpkins song. Donno though.

Stand inside your love
I'm pretty sure Stockholm is on FoF, too.
And thinking about it, let a feedback charter do the ones that were recorded before the click track was invented. I think it wouldn't be very good if I tried to tempo-fix Zepplin.

Oh, and by the way, there may be versions of all these songs, but I doubt any of them have all difficulties, perfectly sync'd on each difficulty, and star power on each difficulty.
If anyone finds one of these songs with those requirements, for the love of god give them to me so we can say we actually have some of this done. =P

Tell you what, since I'm busy and a lot of these won't have ben recorded to a click, if you find versions that need more difficulties and Star Power, I'll add it. Only takes about 30 mins. I can spare that.
And I wanna tab Primus because I love 'em. I'm sure the others can be done well by other people but if I have time I'll give it a go.

Alright. I'm going to find expert versions of a few songs. As long as the expert fretting is perfect, we'll just add star power. Have you heard of that all difficulty adder or whatever. It's some thing that makes all difficulties. Do you think it will add star power to the extra difficulties? If not, if the program works right at making the other difficulties nicely, you don't have to fret them and you can just add the star power to them. >_> Enough with the long paragraphs. Let's get to work on this b!tch.

Adding star power- ten seconds max. The difficultly maker thing should work fine- it'll just remove any fast runs (like delete every other note) and move the notes on the orange fret to blue for medium etc.
That's pretty much all I do, anyway.

Whoo! Looks like we're gonna be making progress.
Only problem - co-op. How we gonna do co-op.

I've never tried it but it looks as easy as starpower. its just a long MIDI note on the chart, one note for 1p another for 2p.

The setlist looks awesome, but I thought that we couldn't use copyrighted songs for the official GZ 2.0 career mode. I thought we had to use indie bands that we had permission from.

That's true. We don't have distribution rights for these songs. Since we're using a format media players can read, this is copyright infringement.
Doesn't mean we can't do it, just can't use it for anything official and its our [censored] on the line if the lawyers call, not the game's.

Well, we won't use this for the game's career mode then, that's all.
It can still be a sweet setlist that can be considered the most recommended and greatest setlist ever to be made for GZ.
^_^
I've just finished Synchronicity II by the Police. I'm pretty sure that's in one of the guitar heroes. Ah well. =P

I've finished expert for Wynona. I'm uploading it and I'll PM you when its done Kickass. That was really fast. Now we just use that difficulty thing and put star power. Unless you already put start power. In that case, you win.

It's just a trial in case stuff needs changed, so on SP. Its SO hard to fret. Larry LaLonde is just impossible to follow and sometimes you don't know whether the bass or guitar is playing.
Let me add star power before the you add the difficulties because don't know what it's gonna do to my lovely .mids

Alrighty then. Well, let's hope its hard. Because I really like hard songs. Heh.
Whoo! finished another song! Adam's Song Blink 182. It was really easy to fret. Extremely fun song though. It's a great song.

Yeah, it's hard! I made it.
I'm using high-quality .wavs for these, so the files are huge and its taking ages to upload. I could use lossless mp3s and take about 1/10 of the file size, but my production background will not allow me... um. I'll do it later.

UPDATE
Whoo! This project is already coming along nicely!
Just in the first day I've already completed three songs, and Wynona is near completion by my good friend canped.
That's four songs completed in one day. Hopefully at this rate we can get this done before summer's over.
Anyway, the three officially completed songs are:
Beat It, Michael Jackson Synchronicity II - The Police Adam's Song - Blink 182
If anyone wants, I will release ONE of these three songs to the public as a little preview. this is the only song I will ever release, so choose which one ya want.
alright, that's it for this update. peace.

well:
1. Thnx for using like five songs that will be in my song pack. Sarcasm btw. That's why i posted mine b4 it was done or i wouldn't have posted at all. I don't want other people using songs I ALREADY CHOSE.
2. Despite the fact that i would rele rather you not use the songs i have chosen, i do like this setlist.
3. Could we work together on a setlist. cuz there's some songs i don't like in your setlist and I'M SURE there's a lot you don't like in mine. Y not combine them and all work on the same thing? The reason no one wants to help anyone else is cuz everyone thinks their idea is best. Let's combine stuff off everyone's setlist! then everyone will help! And everyone's at least somewhat happy.
4. I will help you on some songs, if you take those songs i have chosen off or if you agree to dump some songs for others on mine (aka combine setlists) and some other people's set list. then requests afterwards can become DLC's.
5. If I get my songs done first that are also on your setlist, I'll give you them if you want them, i guess, but still i'm not too pleased that you used those five songs you did. <.<
6. Since mine is stickied, i will delete mine if we combine setlists.
7. A few songs there are already on guitar hero/rock band.
8. Good luck, i would like to see this done even if it is "competing" w/ mine.

I think we should definitly work together. There's some songs on this that just won't work as GZ tunes to my mind that can be dropped for CJB's tunes. Or, just add another few tiers and have the best of everything. Sorry, CBJ I didn't notie the overlap- I just looked for songs I like.

no prob. yes i see that there are many many songs on my setlist which people would not like. there are quite a few here (+ the songs which are already on rb and gh, and there's quite a few, qotsa - no one knows is on gh1, sync II by police is on gh: rock the 80's, coheed and cambria - welcome home is on rb (setlist, not a dlc) and so is nirvana, in bloom if you're gonna do that.) that i can see people not liking, or never having heard b4. I think we should def. get mostly singles, and then add in some really hard stuff and a few songs people have never heard b4. i tell you one thing, i'm not giving up lonely day, feel good, inc., or metaljonus. let's remember, we're not going for the "most badass setlist ever!" we do need some tier one and two material here, and i didn't rele see any here, papercut is prolly the easiest song you picked and even that i feel is slightly too hard to be tier 1, but it may be tier 2 stuff.

I agree CJB. Combining setlists is probably the smartest thing to do. We'll get done faster, to say the least.
Santeria is pretty easy, and Adam's Song is pathetically easy, so I dun know what you be talkin about.
However, I wanna drop Santeria for Feel Good Inc. Only because I hate Sublime but it seemed like a popular pick so I just chose it.
Um, what 5 songs did i use that are in yours? I didn't realy realize. o.o
For the Nirvana song we're using Breed, not In Bloom. Breed was in on tour but this uses 5 frets, it's gonna be a way different experience.
Summary: We must combine setlists.

i must say xephyr, when i read this, i was like wow thats really cool but then it dawns on me...
as much as this is a GOOD setlist, what possible right have you to say that this is the most ultimate GZ setlist ever... A COMMUNITY SETLIST!? wtf, its not really is it. Its just a setlist that you chose and are requesting help for. Where was the poll or requests thread to make this a community song pack hmm?
Im not saying its not a good idea im just saying choose your description carefully. This is most definately not what it says on the tin....

Community setlist as in its not just me its everyone on this forum that's willing to help the ONLY thing I'm taking credit for in this is the basic idea and a few songs.

personally, I think we can afford to lose;
Beat it- one riff in song = boring Do the evolution- pretty much same reason; its repetitive Bullet with butterfly wings- its mostly bass The Crowing - guys voice is too annoying and we wouldn't miss the song BYOB - how about we just use my already done 'Deer Dance' instead? Dust in the wind- Does not rock, terrible video Roulette Dares- Sucks massively. terrible, terrible song by awful band. Renegade- They're a bunch of dicks Critical Acclaim- the intro sounds like 'I Want to Break Free'- no good riffs, just dull speed metal and there's plenty of that to go round Icky Thump- CJB is doing 'Broken Boy Soldiers'- it would work better Achilles Last stand- it's incredible, but not for GZ plus we've got a zep tune already
There's probably more, but those are my choices to go, which should make room for CJB's choices to bring from his set. We can just stick everything else in 'bonus'.
