Beat It: sorry dude, but we're keeping this. I've already finished it and the solo is EXTREMELY fun. the rest of the song with the main riff are pretty meh ish but it's still a fun song and it's a classic.
do the evolution: agreed
bwbw: agreed. need a better Smashing Pumpkins then.
crowing: sure
BYOB: i dont care, i just wanted a SOAD song. =P
dust in the wind: sure
roullette: XD. alright
Renegade: but i lieks Styx. ah whatever
critical Acclaim: what do you propose we put instead
Icky Thump: hell no. Icky Thump stays. funnest song I've ever made. (its done btw)
achilles: I took out Black Dog. So we're gonna need a different Zep song to replace this then. How about Kashmir?

Why the hell did you take out Black Dog?! it would be great. Immigrant Song as alterntive. Although, it's also repetitive. No Quarter? heartbreaker? Kashmir wouldn't work.
The whole point was to make room for CJB's tunes, so ask him what he'd like as alternatives. In fact;
CJB, make a list of all your songs minus the ones you'd b e OK about ditching then we can really start making an 'ultimate set list' by elimination.

so xephyr, why not make this more community minded and allow us all to have a CHOICE. it pretty much garuntees interest if we get to have some input and arent just downlkoading your personal tastes...
<EDIT> HA i see my last comment got me a smite. lol @ u all

how about a space of say ten songs (number is variable of course) and allow suggestions form the members (again 1 star nobodiues like me can prolly be ignored, im on about the regulars) get a good feel what ppl want, then have the most requested or suitable of these tunes as FORUM BONUS PACK (the name is all shades of gay, you can pick a better one) do you understand? Thanks for the exalt canped...

Thanks for the exalt canped... Erm, if you hadn't noticed, I've changed the setlist about 20 times already from people making comments about songs they dislike here. Just make a suggestion and I'll more than likely put it in the setlist somewhere.

know what, i think we just need to stop working on this til we get the setlist finalized.
here's the deal, i want the setlist so that everyone can find something they like, which means no one will ever be 100% pleased. so i think we need like 3-5 people including me, you (xephyr), and canped to come up with a setlist and until then progress should be halted, or else Xepher you're doing this work for nothing.
Here's the ones that rele stand out in miy mind that i want on this setlist:
Audioslave - Like a Stone, easy til the solo yes but that's tier one for you.
Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
Beat It - Fall Out Boys - I like beat it too xephyr but let's do the fall out boy version i have it already and i have the album art too so that's not a problem.
SOAD - Lonely Day - If this isn't put in then srsly wat then this has a killer solo even tho i don't think this is their best song and i have ALL of it done excluding co-op and bass.
Incubus - I don't care wat song.
LP - IDC wat song but lets see if anyone wants a different song.
Dimrain 47 - Infernoplex - Yes it's techno but if Dragonforce can be awesome with synth pop then y can't this?
Metaljonus - All Over - WE NEED THIS ONE IT WILL BE THE HARDEST SONG IN THE GAME!!!! Vizharan would be our best choice to tab tho if he can.
Days of the New - Touch, Stand, and Peel - 'Nough said. This is a song where you don't think you've heard it cuz the name doesn't match the song at all but it got better than decent radioplay for a long time and it has a decent solo not to mention bon jovi style chords.
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite - nice medium difficulty song.
3 Days Grace - IDC wat song.
Crossfade - Cold - same as kryptonite.
Crush 40 - Open Your Heart.
Foo Fighters - The Pretender - I want this song instead of the one you chose simply because of it's massive popularity. and it is somewhat fun to play i used to have a home-made tab of it but it got deleted.
Avenged Sevenfold - either Afterlife, Scream, or Critical Acclaim - all have decent radioplay and all three have killer guitar solo's. Brompton C0cktail i admit is my favorite song on the album but it's not really GZ material, know what i mean?
Songs to consider...
Korn - Coming Undone
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Charlie, I really want this song on there but if you guys just don't want it then fine i guess.
Nickelback - Follow You Home
Minus the Bears - Knights
Atreyu - Falling Down
Train - My Private Nation
Daughtry - It's not Over
And all the songs you already have on there that are on my setlist can stay cuase there all somewhat difficult and fun and they're all really good songs.
Songs that i like on your setlist:
Beatles – Come Together
Hoobastank – Running Away
David Bowie - Space Oddity
Rage Against the Machine – Sleep Now in the Fire
Nirvana - Breed
Alice in Chains – Stay Away
Pearl Jam – Do the Evolution
Incubus – Just a Phase
Green Day - Homecoming
Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name
ACDC – Back in Black
Pink Floyd – Have a Cigar
Coheed and Cambria – The Crowing
Ted Nugent – Stranglehold
Metallica – Fade to Black
Jimi Hendrix – National Anthem
Ozzy Ozbourne – Mr. Crowley
Rush – La Villa Strangiato
Megadeth - Tornado of Souls
Pantera – Cemetery Gates
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Van Halen - Eruption
Slipknot - Pulse of the Maggots
Led Zeppelin – Black Dog
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Primus – Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver
Fall of Troy – Sledgehammer
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal
Paramore - Misery Business
The Doors – People are Strange
Muse – Stockholm Syndrome
Songs that have been requested to be in GZ that are not on either list but should be included...
Mushroom Head - Sun Won't Rise
Beatles - IDC what song but it better be good
Wipeout - by some surfer band i can't remember that consists of two people
a Guns and Roses Song
a Boston Song - how about Rock and Roll Band?
and Our LAdy Peace - Superman's Dead.
and i want to do Awake in the Nightmare's Ten and Two, but that may just be something i do on my own.
AND I AM RELE GLAD YOU'RE DOING VAN HALEN ERUPTION!!! That song rocks.

it wud also be great if nothing at all was compiled. Even though a lot of this is on fof, it would be like just super cool if this was a pure GZ project. (for once)

Well, we can run ideas past Xepher and up to now he's been remarkably receptive towards it, so I'm happy to give him final say in everything because it was basically his idea after all, even if you kinda had it first... sorta.

Same here.
Srry guys if i sound bossy or jerky but here's the deal. Let's be honest i don't rele contribute anything to this forum other than advice and laughs, and i didn't have time during school to do fretting. Truthfully i've been planning on making a big setlist for gz way b4 you (canped) or xephyr ever even joined, and in fact mentioned it a few times. I also mentioned song requests. So here's wat i pictured, summer comes, i work on this project of mine and get a bit of the spotlight y'know, since i'm not rele noticed TOO much around here anywayz. Then when the time comes EVERYONE's doing song packs and i'm like wtf? where'd all these fretters come from? cuz when i joined it was pretty much me, PCB, and furiouss who fretted and that's it! So you can kinda see the circumstanses now.
Again, sorry for being sumwhat bossy or jerky here. I't not that i don't like eveyone trying to help out the game.

Nobody's getting at you, man. I'd say 'disappointed' rather than jerky, which is totally understandable.
I think we should merge the two lists to get as much of both lists in as possible. as far as I can tell, we three are the main fretters around ATM, so if we all work on it, I think it'll get done faster and better than anyone working alone. 'Caurse I still have my own project but I'll chip in when I can.
Actually- Freak on a Leash. I'll do that. Now/tomorrow.

awesome, imma give you and xephyr all the stuff i've already done, do waht you want w/ it. some of it will be pretty useful. and imma do Days of the New - Touch Peel and stand now since i got nothing to do.
and i agree, three fretters = better than one. also better than a whole lot of fretters too cuz then stuff tends to get messy.

idk cuz organization is not only vital to success here, it also makes for a good presentation. presentation shouldn't matter but let's face it, it does. no one likes a disorganized thread/idea. plus there are no good fretters left here besides vizharan, and i'm not sure if he'll help a whole lot, although he said earlier he mite tab dimrain 47 and metaljonus.
o yes and remind me to do broken boy soldiers sometime cuz i mite forget.
and lastly we need to get the gh/rb repeats off this list and i'm not talkin bout breed by nirvana, refer to my previous posts.
o and the greenday song, can we have american idiot instead cuz i personally don't think the guitar is anything gr8 but i've had that song requested up, down, left, and right by non-forum-related friends.

Look; if we're doing Green Day let give 'em what they'll like, not what they ask for. Christy Road, one for the razorbacks, geek stink breath, hitchin' a ride... Something they'll want to PLAY, not just listen to and strum.
BTW, I've been doing Korn and the timing on it is pretty off- i.e. no click track, so I've dragged the song into a steady beat (so it matches the notes rather than the notes matching the song). It's not really noticable but if people don't want it that way, tell me tonight before I start fretting it.

you ought to do it in feedback, we can just convert to mid format l8r if we need to. that way bpm just becomes a breeze.
about the greenday song, ya i think the same way but i wanted to just run the idea across.

b-b-b-b-big change to the project.
As you can see, I massively took out the setlist. Basically all I left are the songs that are complete.
The final tier ain't changing, I've put way too much work into those songs, especially No Boundaries. Jesus that was a horrible fretting experience.
The rest of the setlist is pretty much open for everyone to input so we can have truly an "Ultimate" setlist.
Let the discussion begin =P

since i know how hard it is to fret songs, i'm not gonna ask that you trash any songs on the final tier, but metaljonus rele deserves to not only be on here, but be on the final tier, is there any way we can get it on there? since you did all the songs already, all i ask for is metaljonus, i'll scrap dimrain 47 and do it by myself or maybe for a dlc once we're done.

Black Dog doesn't deserve final tier at all.
Black Dog goes down to tier....7, Metaljonus replaces its spot.

you ought to do it in feedback That's not how I roll. I'm a composer first and foremost and it just so happens the tools and skills I use to make music can be used to make note charts fior GZ and it's a hell of a lot of fun doing it. I'll go ahead and do it, and I'll automate the track's BPM to better match the original. TThe thing is that Korn speed up at the bit. you know the bit. With the black rag with bullet holes in it. That bit. They speed up and stay fast for the rest of the song by around 5 bpm, so I'll just make my track to the same.

Now that the setlist is mostly kablasted, I don't know what to fret. >_>
and CJB gets to do Feel Good Inc. So I'm kinda just, sitting here waiting for stuffs. o.o

If I give you what I've got for Freak on a Leash, is there any way you can put it into sync? The notes are fine but I just can't get it to sync top the track at all. Total nightmare. Tag me out. Here's my .mid - it'll probably be REALY out of sync because I was doing this to a time-stretched song. www.megaupload.com/?d=1HY7NHEQ

edit:
wow Canped the fretting is good but that sync is really bad its gonna take a lot to fix that. =/

"wow Canped the fretting is good but that sync is really bad its gonna take a lot to fix that."
Yeah. Just remember that it's not that bad on my version of the song, but its not good enough to be included here and I just ca't get it to work and I have no idea why. I think the tempo of the MIDI file was doing something weird.
I could send you the version I was working off if you like?
In the mantime, I believe Green Day uise a friggin' metronome, so I'm going to start fretting one of their's. geek stink breath Ok with everyone?

When you get Freak on a Leash syn'd right, however you do it, get it to me and I'll fit it in the setlist.
And where do you suppose Geek Stink should go in the setlist?
Also, CJB, i don't know where you are with progress on songs, but whenever you have Feel Good Inc. with star power and difficulties just get it to me so we can have the whole first tier done. ^_^
