jd2504, i was meaning that harder and/or longer songs have more SP than easier and/or shorter ones. Not that the respective difficulties on the same song `changed the amount of SP. Apologies if i was not clear.

If I put them in folders, then everything would be in folders right? Each tier would be a folder that I'd have to open. I want them to still be a list like it is, just, ordered like in GH

That's what callisto and others are saying -- modify your config.xml so that these two entries look like this: <SongList>List</SongList> <SortSetlistBy>Directory</SortSetlistBy>
If SortSetlistBy is not in the config file, just add it then (I think I had to add it myself, don't remember). Then everything will be ordered by folder name.

I, personally, don't need to see my highest scores in the info bar. I would like to see the song information in it's spot. Year, Genre, Fretter, all that kind of stuff.

Is it written in the .mid file wheter the song is a cover or a original version? considereing if it's presented as "As made famous by" or simply just "By". Would be cool to know if it's a cover or not when you're suppose to play the song..

That's another piece of info declared externally from the midi in GH (songs.dtb).
Maybe an "AsMadeFamousBy = 0/1" tag (or similar) is in order? Unless FoF already has a feature like this -- then GZ2 should implement it similarly.

for the love of god close the note window. It's bigger than the note window GH3, dead serious.

Instead of sorting the scores by difficulties by selecting it before the songs list, why don't you just list the top scores for all difficulties in the list ans only ask for the difficulty after the song is selected ? This would be much better I think.
(also asked in the update 3 forum)
Thank you !

sandmanwebPlease don't double post. I'm not the biggest fan of the "select difficulty after song" feature anyway. I prefer the GH-style, where you select your difficulty first. That's also why I'd rather see the top scores for the difficulty level that I'm about to play.

but could you make possibility like <ShowSongsWithPresentDifficulty>ture/false or something, so we could hide songs not being ie hard if they only have the expert difficulty?

Sorry about the double post... I just find annoying that I must select the difficulty 2 times to play a song if the difficulty is not the one I choose just before. But I also like hulkhaugen's idea about hiding the songs that do not have the selected difficulty. Keep up the good work sandmanwebPlease don't double post. Can we skip the first difficulty selection if AlwaysAskForSpecificSongDifficulty is true? Have you considered doing some kind of metrics.ini in the resources folder for modders? Something that would, say, contain the positions, animation info, etc for elements on the screen and throughout the application to give them more control over things? That would probably make things more customizable in the long run. All in all though it seems like a lot of the core stuff is running really smoothly, I would vote for focusing on polishing the front-end to be nice and slick, i.e the models for meters, star power gauge, in-game options, the finishing touches type stuff. Get this bad boy out of beta and into RC territory, you know?

But I also like hulkhaugen's idea about hiding the songs that do not have the selected difficulty. I'm personally not a huge fan of that one. I'd rather have all my songs in a list and then I choose which difficulty I want, then cutting my list of songs up like that. Just seems inconvenient to have to change the difficulty just to see certain songs. ----------- Request:I asked for this a little while back, but I'm guessing it either got glossed over or simply isn't priority. But, could you possibly add support for lyrics? I have a couple of songs that support them and it'd be nice to see in the game someday. A simple <ShowLyrics> tag in the config file as well for people who don't like them... Here's a song (w/ notes.mid and song.ini) that has a script.txt file with it (it contains the lyrics): www.mediafire.com/?gc2ghviicxrHere's an example where the lyrics could go: img208.imageshack.us/img208/729/gz2lyricexamplebu1.jpgI don't know how hard it'd be to add, but again, I would just love to see it someday.

I've grown rather fond of selecting difficulty first, just because I play most songs on expert and it's nice to not have to select the same thing for every song, but for some songs I still have to play on hard (TTFAF for example... stinking intro still owns me). It would be nice to be able to reselect the difficulty without needing to back out and find out where I was again. Maybe map one of the extra fret buttons (yellow, blue) to a "change difficulty" function, and maybe the other to a "sort setlist by" function (since I know that has been requested).

(I know this is kinda sad...) I just recently downloaded GZ2 on my good ol' E-machines, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed by the way the game is handling. Not sure if it's a glitch or not, but when I'm using the whammy it will give the guitar track a distortion type effect instead of a pitch shift, and if I use the whammy enough the effect gets stuck and makes the guitar track distorted for the rest of the song... often times I've been doing it on purpose because it actually sounds pretty f***ing sweet! I was wondering if you could possibly make a feature where you can pick which effect star power has on the guitar track (much like how you can pick the effect on Rock Band) whether it be from the game options or the effects switch on the stratocaster. It'd also be pretty cool if you could have an option for how strong the star power effect actually is (ranging from "off" to "I can barely tell it's a guitar anymore").

Some ideas: Have a program which will allow you to create a song, and if you provide it with an mp3, it will cconvert it all into the song.ogg, guitar.ogg and song.dat
Another idea is For the game itself to check if it's Rock Band's guitar, and if it is, for when Solos kick in, the screen turns blue, and you can solo with the lower frets.
And my final idea is Have an In-Game Song editor, which will allow the adding and removing of certain notes, but it will not be able to change oggs and dats.

GZ2 doesn't need its own editor, since Feedback Editor is so awesome (and GZ2 supports chart files, the native format for Feedback).
Also, just providing an MP3 file (or any other audio file for that matter) is not sufficient to create the notes for a song.dat (or chart, mid, etc). The notes have to be manually fretted using Feedback or another editor.

When I said "Just providing an MP3 file" I meant with the program, which you would make your own notes with.
EDIT: Just forget it, I can code a program to do that myself.
EDIT2: Oh, and GZ2 don't work for me.

Oh, sorry I gotcha. I was in a hurry out the door when I posted, so I apparently misinterpreted the mp3 to ogg+dat part. Just disregard my response (the "how to get song.dat from my audio file?" question has been posted before, so my mind defaulted when I read your idea.)

Suggestion: Ability to change the volume of the lightning when you hit a SP Path. It's actually quite anoying at times and gets in the way of hearing the song. Especially when theres alot lof sp.

How about a Team Practice multiplayer mode? My wife wants to learn but would like to play along with me. To let us play the guitar part together but on different difficulties we're able to do that.

It's not really a big deal to me, but she doesn't want to play unless I'm playing with her until she gets the hang of things. She says if I'm playing the same part (guitar) then she won't hear the guitar track drop if she misses notes.
No big deal at all. It'd just be nice if it was a 10 minute implementation.
