Anyone seen the video of the Rockband game yet? I read an article and the youtube video makes it look awesome. Harmonix says it's taking song suggestions online to be intergrated on the game and says they will review/consider every submission.

It's gonna rock. Hard. You can customize characters, invite other people to play in your band, face-off, and I'm sure the game has it's own Career Mode.

no offense stupidcarrots - but, on more then several threads - you appear to be talkin out of your [censored], are way off topic or you dwell from the planet mars. I've tried a number of times to follow your many rants or bizarre promises. Each time.... my head hurts a little more. Here is some advice that will help you - not only online but, in the real world too. "Even a fool is thought wise until he opens his mouth." I admire your passion but, Dont feel compelled to have to post on every topic. But, what the hell do i know anyways

I, me, we, the family, the kids, got a PS3 last weekend. That was of MY demand. I am old enough to know the console life circle. And if the PS3 has 1/2 the 'life' of the PS2, then it's worth twice the money.
Here's my train of thought, the findings of personal research, personal bias and preferences, and nothing more than my opinion. If your's differs, then that is kewl, just don't flame, stick to the fax ma'am.
Market circle as I see it.
Nintendo is; has always been, geared towards 'family gaming'. Such as tennis, bowling and such. I am NOT saying ALL Nintendo titles follow this example, but 90% of them are 'Pokie-Mon' and 'Barbie' games.
Nintendo does; and always has, put out a console with all KINDS of great 'potential'. However, only seems to stick with a product long enough to sell a web cam here, and a remote there. Remember the Super Nintendo? It had an 'option' connector on the bottom. I called Nintendo after I discovered this and they said they had all kinds of peripherals coming out for it. A modem for system to system connections, wireless transmitter for a wireless controller; it was IR actually we were old school line of sight back then LOL!, and or a CD drive to compete with the new 'Sega'. NONE OF THIS CAME ABOUT!! As with everything Nintendo, the Wii is a basic box with lots of ideas, but no fruit.
Nintendo is notorious for dropping software development onto 3rd parties. Stopping 'company support' and replacing it with any Tom that will write a Boggle game for the console.
Nintendo sites and forums are notorious for housing the kiddie crowd, full of 'bashers and flamers' with no real problem solving. Just 'My controller has more flames than yours.' sickening......
Nintendo is stingy with it's 'code'. Even for outdated, useless hardware, they refuse to sell/trade/ or release their code to third parties for building upon outdated systems. -sound familiar?-
On to the market trends I've seen for Sony.
They release a console or portable with every bell they can think of. They continue to supply NEW peripherals to their old consoles. They are willing to share/sell/trade their code so 3rd parties can build upon outdated systems.
PS1.. I can STILL buy NEW titles for the PS1..........
PS2.. The machine has lived longer than my grandfather; who is still alive at 94, and STILL has new games, peripherals, support, a GROWING community full of 'old timers' willing to help you Homebrew the system.
Did ANYONE notice; other than I, that Guitar Hero was for the PS2 FIRST!! It took the X-Box ALL the way to 360, and Nintendo ALL the way to Wii for Guitar Hero. Ever wonder why they did not put out a release for their older systems? 1) They sold them and don't care. 2) They are not powerful enough in the hardware to RUN GH!
PSP.. The most under rated personal console ever... hehe.. In the beginning any how. People have been dumping Nintendo DS on eBay for years to replace it with a PSP.. I made the same mistake..
Ok.. On to simple specs.
Wii.. 723mhz PowerPC; MODIFIED IBM, processor PS3.. 3.2GHZ PowerPC STANDARD processor... same one as in Mac's Wii.. System Memory. 88mb PS3.. 512mb system RAM. 256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz 256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700mhz Wii.. Internal Storage. 512MB 'flash' RAM. PS3.. 60GB HDD
and it just goes on from there. Wii, no DVD. PS3 I've already got a Blu-Ray DVD player. No need to buy another.
This thing has it all. Motion controllers, Blu-Ray, browser, USB keyboard/mouse inputs STANDARD!!!
If you think some third party is not gonna make a 'Wii like' controller for the PS3, then you're behind the game brother.
The only thing...
That price tag. Technology takes cash... Nintendo puts out a basic box to get your heart pumping, then dies off. . Until you eagerly await with baited breath the release of their NEW console. Sony puts out an 'everything' box, and that takes cash.
Think of it as a computer. Mac... You can't upgrade that 2000.00 dollar Mac video card, can't get a bigger/different screen because the computer IS the screen, can't replace that CD drive with an upgrade.. Other words, you are stuck spending 2k a year to replace the Mac to keep on top.
Mine. I say mine because I built all 5 of the ones on my home network. I can replace anything I want.. Simple..
Besides..... The PS3 runs Linux.. That's the seller right there...
WHEW!! Glad that post is over, but it needed to be said. PS3 is for me. Wii is for the wee's..

About the Super Nintendo...
That stuff never came out because Nintendo's plans with Sony. The CD drive was going to be the most important, but Sony double crossed Nintendo and bought drives from Phillips for themselves, and never told Nintendo about it. That's why the Nintendo 64 came out, and shortly after, the Playstation.
I think thats what happened, I can't remember too much of it.

Microsoft is ok if you don't care about quality, customer support, or expandability. Their product is pretty much WYSIWYG also.
i am NOT NOT NOT saying these systems don't have a purpose, they just don't serve mine is all.
Also R4L, electronics is a cut throat business. I mean Gates stole code from Jobs, went behind his back and sold Windows 1.0 to the Chinese when he and Jobs were in negotiation.
Anyrate, I am WAY off topic. I should have just said. "This should be an AWESOME PS3 game." and left. ROFL!

1. inside the guitar there is a spring and a small piece of plastic that attaches the spring to the whammy bar. its a little thicker this time and the 5 minutes joke was just that... a joke. and i played rock band at a microsoft meeting and they had it there. and everyone... dont worry. i am sure it wont be long before someone has hacked it and made something like gz for it

tednigma, saying no DVD on Wii is ignorant. The Wii is a games console, not a home theater.
And yes, im buying a 360 just for Rock Band \m/

In my school's ISS Room above each desk there's a sticker that says, "Better to let someone think you're an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

I noticed Ted didn't say anything about the Xbox 360 while he was comparing consoles. He should note that it has a 3.0GHz TRIPLE CORE processor, which is far more powerful than the PS3's single core 3.2GHz. Also, the Xbox 360 has greater storage capacities, at 120Gb. I personally think he should've gone for the 360...but that's just my 2 cents on the topic. Btw Bill Gates is a Harvard dropout and bought the Windows OS for $20. Talk about profit, holy crap. If I could make billions from spending $20 I would.

My roommate checked how many cores the PS3 has, I think it actually has 7 (not saying it does, but he searched for a while and I BELIEVE that's what the site said).

I like Microsoft because they made the 360. I think Nintendo sucks besides the DS which is kind of cool.
