Yep. Anything that I say I will get done, I will no longer be giving an estimated time of completion. Why? Because I am the worst procrastinator in existence. The only reason I give an estimation, I have realized, is so that I know how much time I have to waste before the project absolutely HAS to be done. So, for everyone's sake and the sake of time -- no more due dates. Things will get done faster, and I won't feel bad for not meeting the deadline that I set for the sole reason of not meeting it.
Btw if this post seems random, here's an excerpt from the thread that triggered this thought: "By the way, I'm about half done with the new song download section. Most of the battle is getting the uploads to work, which I've almost completed. I should probably have this done by the end of the weekend." --October 30, 2008
Have uploads been finished yet? F*ck no.

Eh, you do a lot anyway CB i personally dont think it matters if your late on some stuff you do, your still doing it for the community. Your own pace is cool. I get why you made the post though..

I hate deadlines too. Giving them in my personal projects would just kill me, I don't recommend it to anyone. I've got enough scheduled stuff to do anyway so any work of which deadlines I can affect, I give time.
And I agree with your point, CB, about how deadlines will actually delay actual work. It happens to me very often that I find myself with nothing just because I had so much time towards the deadline.. I guess I need to learn some scheduler management (no wait, that's what I wanted to get rid of).
By the way, give/make a deadline, which one or both? Need some english grammar advice here..

out of give or make, make is the most correct terminology, however, 'I set a deadline' is more correct

yeah, some things you do, do seem that they're done way too late... *cough* my fretbuttons *cough* better than confusingboat's *cough* Are you honestly semi-flaming me? First off, I am a very busy person. I have many roles in this community as well as an active social life outside of Frontman (including a job) which is why I am unable to complete projects in a timely manner. Also, I'm on vacation right now so you can suck it. Second, I'll have you know that I only threw together those original fret buttons because they were better than the originals and so that I had a platform for creating other fret buttons from. They're not really that high on my list of priorities at the moment. So basically you're comparing your final product to my rough draft.

Well I wouldn't say god...I mean I have seen far better done. But that's aside the point. And to be honest I think he's not that great at creating graphics, he just seems to do a lot of smudging and recoloring.

I dont like what CB has done with this site. I think black and yellow is an awful combination of colours. But this doesnt mean i dont like him.. it just means everyone has different opinions about others artwork

Well it is my opinion that most of the graphics you have submitted don't look very good. It is also my opinion that Gimp should not be used because it doesn't offer very much. Basically resizing and recoloring as well as basic text and vector graphics (yes I have used it, I'm not talking out of my a*s); not sufficient for graphic styling. For example, the new meters that I have created could never be created in Gimp, unless you wasted your life coloring them pixel by pixel. I recommend Photoshop CS2 for use when making graphics -- it has a good balance of being a lightweight program as well as offer an array of great features.
