YES! yes it is! i've just recently come to the conclusion it actually is, the noobs were right all along >.< let me explain why. in gh3 (and gh2, dunno about any other), when you hold a sustained note, just a little tick gets added to your rockmeter if you hold it till the end. that means you get a tick for hitting the note and a tick for ending it. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN IN FRONTMAN!! depending on what your playing this could make the song just a tiny bit harder to pass it. myth over, i'm a genius

lol. i thot we settled this a long time ago. the meter works the same for the most part. the only really big difference is that gh3 judges what amount of rock meter you loose based on the difficulty of the song section. yes, it is true! derelict found this info on scorehero a long time ago. it's what finally changed my mind about the rock meter working exactly the same. (scorehero never lies!) either way, i think the rock meter is pretty fair. and it would prolly be good NOT to compare the game to gh3 from now on anyways haha

I think the long flame animation in FM is what's messing up my timing. I can pwn [censored] on GH3 but on the same song in FM I completely suck it up. Either that or the note windows are hella different.

Actually you're difference is different than my difference. I still hope to make it known to callisto and change his mind, but he hasn't been back til now so I never brought it back up.
Now, I'm not saying I'm going to try to make things exactly like GH3 or any GH for that matter. What I would like to get is the incredible disparity fixed. I mean, I'm starting my expert career on GH3, and barely can pass most hard songs in FM. Couple that with the fact that most customs are written for expert and I lose the whole reason to play FM.

In my opinion, no Rhythm game will ever be as easy as Guitar Hero 3 . That game is so ridiculously easy to play. Though I will admit the simplicity makes me feel special when I pass TtFaF, but the only way I manage that is with that hopo window the size of something very large. For those who weren't aware, the hopo window in GH3 extends indefinently. If you don't believe me, load up a song with a hopo after a long hold (like the Halo 3 theme). Hit the first note, let go and wait for the next hopo to show up. You can hit the next fret whenever, it will count it. That's my reason for disliking GH3... and World Tour.

I really like FM though because it will have music Guitar Hero and Rock Band will never have. I just hate it when songs are badly charted or charted to be unnecessarily hard (crazy chords on simple stuff).

@ confusing boat:
turn vsync off in your config.xml. that more than likely is causing the problems from what it sounds like.

Well that did it. Though idk why vsync would have any negative effect on this game considering I have a GeForce 9800GT.
