So talking to escorted in the chatbox (I'm sure of you noticed) and he told me that his Practice project was pretty much dead. Too many commitments and not enough escorted to go around. As this was a project I was following very closely, I'm going to see how taking it on goes.
Now that being said, I thought about making the sounds by charting something in fruity loops like canped suggested, but since I've never done that could you really make it sound right if you're doing a HOPO tutorial? For this reason I thought I'd try to create a few of them, post em up here and see how we like it. Here is escorted's original list:
EASY
01. Single Notes
02. Alternating Notes
03. Starpower
04. Double Chords
05. Steady Strumming
06. Basic HOPO Training
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEDIUM
01. Single Notes; runs through all the notes, somewhat slowly but faster than easy
02. Alternating Notes; medium speed where each note is strummed
03. Starpower; tutorial on whammying long notes to get more starpower
04. Double Chords; similar to the single notes, however this time using double notes going back and forth across the range
05. Split Chords; alternating between the two medium split chords at varying speeds with other notes thrown in
06. Steady Strumming; Think "barracuda"
07. Double Chord Strumming; similar to steady strumming, however those ones where you have a string of greens and they throw a green-red chord in there once in a while
08. Intermediate HOPO Training; slowish hopo strings, 5-6 notes long, 3-4 different hopo strings
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HARD
01. Single Notes
02. Alternating Single Notes
03. Alternating Chords
04. Starpower
05. Double Chords
06. Split Chords
07. Steady Strumming
08. Double Chord Strumming
09. Intermediate HOPO Training 2
10. Fast Strumming
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXPERT
01. Single Notes
02. Alternating Single Notes
03. Alternating Chords
04. Starpower
05. Double Chords
06. Triple Chords
07. Split Chords
08. Steady Strumming
09. Double Chord Strumming
10. Triple Chord Strumming
11. Advanced HOPO Training
12. Faster Strumming
So I have a few questions I hope somebody (perhaps escorted himself) can try to answer.
1. Starpower sections....? Getting starpower and knowing when to use it? or knowing how to maximize score by "squeezing" starpower and what to look for when trying to decide where to activate?
2. Where in this list would the sections of playing a continuous note and throwing in a chord every 4th or 6th note fit into this list?
Oh, and CB said he'd be willing to record the guitar for this, so that would leave charting it and if necessary recording a bit of helping audio through any sections that need a little coaching.
