I think when I miss a note and the next note is a hammer on, I can still hammer on the note instead of strumming it
off-topic kinda: there should be a hyperspeed option in the settings menu

Good to see this game finnaly comming together But why whining bout the dat-files? can't we just drop them, and stick to the midi-system? seems to be better and mora satbile. the midi do have starpower and ho/po's, dont they?

Nice job! I think GuitarStar will be great when the final art is in place. I think GuitarStar is a great name for this version, by the way.
I did notice there seems to be a difference in timing, I miss a lot of notes I hit in FoF and Guitar Zero. It looks like GuitarStar is more critical, notes I play that register in FoF and GuitarZero as hits are rejected as misses in GuitarStar. This makes it feel and play different from the other two.
By the way, if I move down the set list it still stops with update 2. However this time it doesn't crash with an error message, the cursor reappears and when I hit Escape, it quits the program.
Edit: does anybody know why the forum replaces GuitarStar (with a space between the words) with guitar zero game? It's very annoying, I had to drop the space.

@bob78h Maybe, can you please post the .mid or .dat file of the song? ableekerMmmmh... can't quite comment on that yet, I'm going to try and reproduce it. Does it happen consistently at the end of the setlist or also in the middle? Does it happen just somestimes or very regularely? And finally, is there anything else that you feel might cause the error (like pressing DOWN very often/quickly)?

ableekerI've got no idea whatsoever why Guitar_Star is replaced by guitar zero game. I've just noticed that the forum does it - explaination anyone?

I have no idea. I can fix it I think.
EDIT: I fixed it. I don't know why, but someone had it under our censored words list. It's fixed now.

Great, R4L!
About that set list, I can reproduce it every time. Most of the times the cursor reappears and pressing Escape quits Guitar Star, however it crashed twice with P9: system.argumentexception. I don't think it matters much if I scroll down quickly, pressing Down slower didn't prevent it.
I have been using the GZ version of the GH1 and GH2 songs, and put them in three folders, named GH1, GH2, and XBOX360. First in the set list I see the 3 GZ songs, then 47 GH1 songs, then 63 GH2 songs, then 11 XBOX360 songs. When I scroll down to the very first XBOX360 song, the program crashes or hangs.
I had another song in the list at the top under the heading Songs that I removed later, but that didn't change anything, maybe because these are the last entries in my setlist.dat.
By the way, can I upload files to the forum?

I downloaded mentalpreout's config. The frets are configured for the in-game stuff correctly...but my strum bar isn't. It doesn't strum at all. What do I do?

Oh, and maybe it's an idea to use Page Down and Up to scroll through the set list more quickly? A page at a time, that would really be useful.

What do I do? setup your own config using a controller. go to your control panel and see which button on controller corresponds to the guitar buttons and map them ingame with the controller. hold the button befoire u press enter to map. then exit out and save config. replug in guitar.
