I recently got a 19" 16:10 widescreen LCD monitor as a gift during Christmas. Since I got it, though, GZ2 hasn't worked properly, it's been stuttering to a nearly unplayable level.
Since I know it may be a while before Frontman or whatever the new version is going to be called is finished up, I have to ask, has anyone had and fixed a problem like this before?
Thank you.

you dont have any full screen windows like mozzila open do you? thats probably not the cause but that makes the board shutter immensely

similar things happen from time to time on my laptop, which is also a wide screen. but then the problems just kinda dissappear for a while. then come back after a month or two. just random really. but i doubt we're having the same problems... i can still play gz, but the lagging is just frustrating.

Well, due to the game not seemed to properly support 16:10 (It stretches, and it throws off my timing due to a "different" angle of play), I was trying to use it windowed, at 1152x864. That's where I stuttered like mad, with nothing else up.
Now, when I do try to play it in fullscreen at 1440x900, it DOES tend to work without too much stutter, but again, it's not designed for that kinda wideness, unfortunately, so it looks funky strange.
I trust you boys, hopefully you can fix something like this up for when Frontman gets released.

I bet you could make a widescreen mod that was designed for that resolution by creating widescreen graphics and the like...parts of it may still look weird (notes perhaps) but you could probably get the rest to look right with a little tinkering...

The interesting thing in that texture stretching is that the fretboard stays the same. There was this same kind of conversation of the texture size ratios when custom screen ratio was implemented. The fretboard keeps the same size, but meters are relatively getting smaller. What i've seen to be a good compromise is to use 1024x768 ratio at fullscreen on my 1440x900 monitor. The meters are on normal shape and doesn't go too small.

nVidia 9800 GTX+, AMD Athlon X2 4200+ (2.4gHz), Windows XP S.P. 3, 2gb of RAM.
The problem with performance isn't in fullscreen, though, it's in windowed.
As for a widescreen mod, while I'd love to, I have literally no experience with messing with .xml and such.
