So finally over the last few months I managed to get the rest of the instruments needed to become a one man band. Unfortunantly, I couldn't develop a voice good enough to sing, so all my music is basically instrumentals. Anyway, check this out. Its a cover of the beast and the harlot solo. Made it to test out my new Bass Guitar, a ESP LTD. Its pretty good, with the exception of the fret buzz. I played shitty since I was so rushed to listening to the bass. Heres a cool sample though IMO. www.savefile.com/files/1780914I use Guitar Rig 3 as a amp. Basically, hook my guitar into my laptop and use it as a amp rather than having a real guitar amp. This program saved me from wasting 500 bucks on a line 6 amp that doesnt have near as many effects and stuff. The lead, rhythm, and harmony in the song was all recorded using a horrifying Fender Squier strat. It's the last time I play it before handing it off to a good friend about to embark on their own musical journey. Its a POS to me, but they will be happy for the free guitar. I will probly miss it still though. BTW, NEVER buy a squier strat, even to begin learning guitar. The neck WILL warp fast. Fret buzz and no sustain will ensure later. Tell me what you think.

Nice effort.. but the playing was really sloppy and im like 90% sure you were playing some wrong notes..
Dont get me wrong.. you have the skill to be able to play the song but you just need to take more time in getting the timing especially down packed.
Tone was pretty hurendous.. (sp) I dont even know why you recorded on that peice of sh!t..
Use a in build metronome to keep your timing.. all the good recording programs use them.. cubase is great.. dont use audacity.. which i have a sneaky suspicion you did.
Anyway. Just concentrate on hitting the right notes and getting your timing correct.
Want me to record a version? i dunno how ill go though.

guitar rig 3 costs as much as a line 6 xt-3....did you just download the software and make your own cord or something?

Meh, I know its sloppy and crap. Remember, it was a test for my bass, plus everything you hear was my work. (no backtracks) I didnt even listen to the song when I recorded. As for tone, yeah, its rather crappy on a SQUIER. This thing has no sustain, tone is horrible, and is packed to the max with fretbuzz.
Once I get the ibanez back I'll do a re-record of the rhythm and lead. Will sound a ton better.
And as a comparison for the Line 6 and Guitar Rig 3, there is no comparison.
I downloaded guitar rig, basically a $400-500 amp. Bought a adapter for $3 to get my guitar to my computer, and boom. Happiness. Saved TONS of money. Until I really need it, then i'll get a expensive amp, otherwise guitar rig is way more than what I can ask for.

I agree with Hzac...You certainly DO have the potential, you just can't rush things like it seems you did...and I get you on the Squire to...they sound like squealing animals!
And what kind of ibanez do you have?
My guitarist has a Ibanez Xiphos with a beautiful Chameleon finish.

I have a Ibanez Gio Gsz120 and a coming Prestiege.
Don't judge just the lead guitar, let me know about the bass, rhythm and drums. I made the volume low when I mixed in the drums, I used a friends electric kit that sounded raspy and crappy when I recorded through it. The bass was a ESP LTD and it isnt too bad. Fret buzz for the time being till I fix it up.

Yeah...I didn't like the sounds of the drums...it sounded a lil off tempo and I hate every sound that comes from an electric...It just never sounds good enough...no matter how good the set is...I hate electric drums...
Bass sounded good...just fuzzy

To be honest cool.. if you wanted to just do a bass test. you would of only recorded bass and maybe some drums in a little tune.

Theres no point in doing just the bass, cause thats what i'm already hearing as I play it. It's more of a test to see how it sounded with everything else. I don't care about my playing quality when i'm recording with [censored] equiptment anyway. Tomorrow I pickup my ibanez, and I'll re-record a lead / rhythm track and it will sound tons better. I still got all the split tracks so when I merge it next time I'll turn down the volumes so theres less fuzz/static.
Drums are shitty, cause they were played on a shitty set, and also seeing that i'm a fairly new drummer, I didn't think it was too bad. That's all I'm trying to do for now is get all the instruments and then work my way up and get good at them. I had to use my friends shitty electric cause I have no idea how to record my acoustic drums without spending over 100 bucks. Drumming is so freakin expensive as it is.

The ibanez isn't that bad. I have the same one and I record with it. Mines fucked up though, its fallen too much and it does weird things(distortion without being plugged into anything sometimes wtf) I think it sounds pretty good with guitar rig 3. I hate the sound of that squier strat though. But then again, if I get my first guitar out(lyon by washburn...)everyone might die from hearing it...

I had a razorback shards guitar. Bought it used for 650, after a week of having it the already messed up part of the headstock fell off agian, so I fixed it up and re-sold it for the same amount. Thats the only reason I was able to afford all the other things I have. (keyboard, drums, bass)
