Hey guys I have a idea (Born to be anoyng!!!) : Guitar Zero II - The End Of The Betas ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.Featuring a new amazing 3D gameplay: -3D stage -3D freatboard -3D Meters 2.New play modes: -Career mode -Free play -Multiplayer -Training -Tutorial 3.Also a new exiting song pack featured 4.Find the latest info on www.guitarzero2.net Ok that was a litle bit of the topic. That may some day be a advertising topic at a world famous newspaper... So basicly my idea is when all the people who work on stages, fretboards and meters (3D ofcourse) finish their work we asemble a stable Guitar Zero II release. There will be a big song pack in it and the songs may also be organized in a career. There will be also a Free play, Training and Tutorial mode. That is my idea. I am willing to help with all resources. As we all know there are people working on 3D stages, fretboards and meters. I can help with some of the 3D work and the website design. Please tell me what you think. Have a nice day! Rumen (RazorDude)

well, we could start ask bands (both the big famous ones, and the guys playing in the local) and some people with music skill could possibly compose some stuff too (myself can probably out up a 2-3 shitty songs in a week or so)
And I don't really know how the legality is for covers or so but thats a possibility too.

Once we have a 3d stage and players, I'd be willing to implement some kind of career mode as well.

Personally I'm fine with 2D stuff. 2D stuff is easier to mod. And 2D stuff runs good. If I were to use 3D stuff, it would cause my game to be slow/laggy/jumpy, and I wouldn't be able to mod much of anything in-game.

What would be great is to be able to capture Guitar Hero stuff with a fixed camera position. Then we could make some sweet sprite sheets from the capture movie.

Kool, we all want that xD but i think that the song pack idea isnt possible ¿(C)? (or just uncopyrighted songs :S ) I've made 2 GZ-compatible songs, which I've written, already (they're in the 'songs' section on the forum). I can write, record and fret loads of stuff in any amount of styles and I've got plenty of time to do it (at the minute). I've also got some connections with a few local bands (including my own, who are on hiatus) and as a would-be music producer, I can make seperate guitar tracks rather than have to use a pre-mixed file. And yes, if you don't pay PRS for the use of any copyright material (including covers) it is illegal. Matter of fact, downloading frets people have made of copyright material is illegal, as is sharing one you've made. Its just that nobody really cares.

Sure, you can get them all here (although only two are mine; I fretted the others) www.megaupload.com/?d=XLR75S21. I'm happy to write stuff on request (like 'could we have a more thrash-metal sounding one','could you do an abstract elentronic jazz-folk epic?') but I'm moving my operation out of my bedroom and into my new recording studio over the next month or so. Might have to wait till then, but the tunes will be of much better quality. In the mean time, I MIGHT be able to get these guys to let us use 'Day in Hell' www.myspace.com/seeinthenameofnowI'm good friends with the singer and producer/engineer of that track, so I can get access to the files I need if I can get permission.

Hey Callisto, don't forget this @callisto My roommate + band have written a bunch of songs that I/he could tab for the career mode (Alternative Rock+Metal). I got his approval this morning to offer his material for the cause. Unfortunately, we don't currently have any recordings with separated guitar + bass tracks. MySpace band pageWe had already charted two of the songs a few months ago on expert+guitar. Download below: Down Aero Sample Song PackLet me know what you think.

I'd also be glad to donate some tracks to the cause. Once GZ properly supports *.chart co-op action, I can make some nicely split tracks. Only downside is it's all electronic (but can be convincing enough). www.melonstepfiles.com/music.html (sadly, I can't split the older tracks)

What's wrong with the .chart co-op? I haven't had any problems with GZ2's co-op at all (except with a few GH2 midi files -- the game couldn't find the bass track or something)

The charts themselves work fine when used with one audio file. It's getting GZ to recognize the 3 separate audio files that doesn't work (band, guitar and rhythm/bass). If this does work then shame on me.

I haven't had a problem with using multiple audio files. But I guess you might already know that if you've read my reply to one of your other posts www.guitarzero2.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=20tutorials&action=display&thread=1362&page=1#19305If you remove everything except for the oggs/mp3s and chart file, and it's still giving you trouble, then I'm stumped (unless possibly if it's because of using mp3s... I haven't fiddled with them and GZ2) [edit] the only other bug I managed to find is that the audio track will not turn off if you strum, only if you release on a sustained note or miss a note. I.e. strumming on a sustain note doesn't silence the track -- only letting go of the fret does (or pressing a higher one, etc) If this isn't already on the bug thread, I'll report it. [edit2] Hmm, it seems GZ2 can support multiple audio files if they are named song.ogg, guitar.ogg, and rhythm.ogg -- it won't find the rhythm/bass or guitar files if they are named anything else, regardless of what the chart points to or if the files are mp3 or ogg. The band/song file is apparently the only one that can be successfully defined in chart files (i.e. called something other than song.ogg) I suppose it's because I've always stuck to the song/guitar/rhythm ogg naming convention that I've never run into this limitation.

www.melonstepfiles.com/Zagh%20seperate.zipThis is what I want my Zagh's OP to be like. With how the song only plays the band mp3, I assume GZ doesn't look at the guitarstream and bassstream tags. Since there aren't many fully separated songs out there aside from the official charts (which don't need *.charts), it's reasonable for callisto to miss this. One thing I tried was to rename the respective files to the generic names (song.ogg, guitar.ogg, rhythm.ogg). This causes the band AND the guitar to play (I assume GZ looks for those files regardless of what the *.chart says). Sadly, the bass is nowhere to be found. Even if it did work, I'd rather have it look at what the chart file says before I say the game has full support. If you can find a way to get all 3 tracks to work, without using a different format, I'm all ears. EDIT: Just for quick reference, this is what the song is supposed to sound like.

Regarding the second edit in my post above, I was using your Zagh's OP song. When I changed to use ogg files, I used the ones from Black Sunshine, since the three tracks are very easy to distinguish in that song, and the intro to your song reminded me of the bassline for Black Sunshine When I had them named to Zagh's OP Band/Lead/Bass.ogg (to keep with the names in your chart, save for the mp3 extension), only the band file was found, but when I had them named under the song/guitar/rhythm.ogg convention, the game recognized them all perfectly. Bass silenced when I stopped playing the bass part, guitar silenced when I stopped playing the guitar part, and the band never silenced. As far as I can tell, it silences and plays the correct parts like it should be.

Arg. Something must be wrong with my installation or something...renaming the bass to rhythm.ogg doesn't do squat over here (but the guitar does work).
I'm checking by simply listening to the preview clip in the song selection.
Anyways I already brought up the *.chart tags (guitarstream, bassstream, etc) up in the bug thread and Callisto said it'll be fixed in the next update. So I'll be anxiously waiting for that.
Thanks for helping.
