Okay here it goes.
1. Note Window is too Big!
OMG that frustrates me so bad. cuz i'll be playing and the note window is so big that on fast chords/hopo streams, a lot of times it'll accept the note AHEAD of the note i was trying to play, or in chords, it'll accept the chord 1 place AHEAD of the chord i was trying to play. and on hopo's the window is ENORMOUS. it makes playing a lot of songs much too hard. Songs that i can pass on GH which are fast and have a lot of hopo's or chords played over and over are like impossible for me to play now. Can you close the note window by like half or 1/4 plz???
2. My Thoughts on Animated/3d Stages
Here's some things i've been thinking about when the time comes for next update.
For Animated Stages:
We could have images for all the band members.
For the guitarist there are five different images when a note on the fretboard is pressed or hit, and five different images for when a note is missed. in the five different images for each, the guitarists' hands are on different positions on the neck (depending on how high or low the note is on the fretboard). for hit images, the guitarist strums (so it mite consist of ten images, one for b4 the strum, and one fr after) and for miss images, the guitarist doesn't strum. then a normal image for when there is no guitar playing. and possible a star power version of the hit/miss images.
For the drummer, there is a picture of every hand position/combination. the drummer picture is determined by the drum track in the .chart or .mid. in the drum track, there are five notes layed out in feedback like this:
The green can be for the snare, the red for the hi-hat, the yellow for the tom/second snare, the blue for the crashes/ride, and the orange for the foot pedal. (or something like this.) then the drummer looks like he is actually playing, but there is not a lot of animation involved compared to how much animation is involved as of now.
the singer would be easier than he already is, with one image of his mouth closed, and one image of his mouth open, and his mouth movements can be triggered by notes in the .chart or .mid's singing file. and perhaps a star power animation.
the bassist would be the same as the guitarist, only he would read from the bass track in the .mid or .chart.
For 3d Stages:
Take the same idea from the animated stages and apply them here. there would only be a few changes.
for the guitarist/bassist, they would not need to move much to be interesting except when using star power. if you would need them to move you could just make the arms/fingers parent obects of the characters themselves. they could read info from the guitar/bass track. they could easily perform chords as they are performed from the track (just give a certain specified position using x, y, and z as variable for 3-d space. then tell the second finger used in the chord to automatically move down one string based on those variables. however this might be a little tricky because every string would need to be the exact same space apart vertically.). They wouldn't need to be right on the money w/ the chords/notes, they just need to look like they are doing something. lol. so you could just set a variable for the length of the neck, a variable for where the neck ends and where it meets the guitar. then tell the guitarist character to hit a random position relatively higher or lower than the last note hit.
i'm not big on the 3-d stuff or the terminology here so i hope this makes sense to you castillo.
the drummer would be about the same, but just instead of images we can use 3-d models, or make the arms of the drummer hit certain positions in the air/on the drumset based on the drum track.
the singer would be the same except models would need to be used instead of images, and somehow the mouth and maybe eyes would need to be parent objects of the singer, since singers tend to move around a lot.
this mite be useful to you castillo or teancum or sumone else, or it mite just be a waste of time, i'm not sure. just take this for what it's worth. and i'm sorry i can't make models for you guys to work w/. i hope to see 3-d stages/better 2-d stages here by the time i get back.
