Anybody care to share what it is exactly that this error is trying to tell me? I have checked the .dat files that this comes up for and they are of the exact same structure that the other ones are in that work. Also, it only comes up on expert; depressing really. Me are confuse.

man i had this error back in beta 4, i asked everywhere for help and people seemed totally clueless. The only joy i had was redownloading the suspect files which seemed to work but offered no explanation as to the cause. Hope someone works this out for you, id like to know as well

same things happening to me i thought it was just beta 6 doing it and i was about to post this in glitch bug reports. I thought it was because most .dats have the notes out of order time wise.

I think maybe the .dat format is half retarded, and only comes to realize it on songs that I want to play just to spite me.

I used to get that error when I tried to use MIDI format 1, I think...
Is there a .dat to something else converter you could try?
