Before I begin. Yes, I HAVE read the "***SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR GUITARSTAR*** 4 n00bs" thread and I have installed ALL the required software, rebooting when asked following the directions exactly.
I have Windows XP SP2, with all the required software and when I try to start GuitarStar I get the following:
GuitarStar crashed. Cause: Missing file: System.IO.FileNoFoundException: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) at c1..ctor() at a5.a(String[] A_0) Additional data:
I did a search about this all I came up with was a thread about GuitarStar not starting up in Vista, but I already have the software mentioned in that thread installed.
Any ideas other than, "You think you installed everything but you must of missed something, reinstall everything again" will be appriecated.

its cause those directions are wrong and dont contain the correct files...the links were merely copied and slapped up there. theoretically you only need 4 files to run gz you need only xtra files if ur pc is physically special i will upload the the files i have thouroughly tested... look for it in downloads under hassle free beta install i used to get the same error as you easily fixable

I already have those installed, when I try to install the .net 3.5 framework and xnafx20_redist.msi, I get a window asking to repair or uninstall, I clicked repair on both of them, and I clicked the C++ Redistributable and ran that again.
I install get the same error.
I'll try restarting even thou I don't think that would be necessary.
UPDATE: Restarting had no effect. What file would I be missing?

Well, I downloaded File Monitor, to watch GuitarStar.exe on startup and apparently it's trying to access xinput1_3.dll and x3daudio1_2.dll but can't find the files. They look to be DirectX files but according to dxdiag I already have DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) installed.
What I did was google those 2 files and download them to the guitarstar directory and now it works.

Opps that was a typo, really sorry about that, try x 3daudio1_2.dll instead of x 2daudio1_2.dll My mistake, I'll fix it in my original post also.
