Okay, so both my GH3 wireless PS2 guitars have dead recievers, I dont ever plan on picking one up unless I need another guitar cheap (if they die that fast, I aint spending cash on it), so how bout the PS2 rockband guitar? I know the strum bars were fragile (not sure if they have been revised), but is the reciever a bit more... robust than the GH3 one? It uses a USB dongle reciever for those who dont know. If it's a good way to get a guitar to play GZ for a while, I'll pick one up. Even if it only lasts a year I'll be happy, the GH3 (Second one) reciever died within 2 weeks.
Also will the PS2 RB guitar even work on PC?

I dont know much about RB guitars mew but i have always used a wireless GH3 controller, along with wireless gamepads too and my receiver is in excellent condition, never caused any issues whatsoever. The same with my friends too. You are using an official adapter? Also, how about simply getting a wired xbox guitar? Seems much simpler IMO...

It should work. There's a couple of users with the PS2 rock Band controller. I heard it gets recognised as a ps3 controller, since their the same thing.
EDIT: the kramer guitars suck. the one that came with gh3 for me freakin' broke after like 2 months.

Cool, I bought one and it works perfectly, alternate strumming sucks, I dont think its registering the up strum (or I'm not moving my hand enough) but the fret buttons have more of a tactile feel, giving me tremendously higher scores for songs with alot of hammer-ons. However, the strum bar has almost 0 tactile feedback, making it a bit harder to tell if I actually strummed or not. Overall, I like it better, and its got a cool glowy playstation button too And to Crytic: Yes, I was using the offical PS2 wireless recivers, the one that comes with the wireless guitar with GH3. If you dont take it out of the slot alot, its perfectly fine, but if you switch it alot, expect it to die fairly quickly.

I have the same problem with the strum bar. I like the fret buttons better, but they could have added a clicker to the strum bar. Just so you know I don't use the PS2 version one. I use the Wii version, has a USB receiver, so I figured it would work, and it did. I love the fact that I can actually whammy now with it, without having to bind it to a button. I also love the blue ring light up thingy around the guitar connect button. The receiver is durable for the Wii version, so they don't break. Sometimes it doesn't really register some strums while I strum fast, but I probably do the same thing as you, not strumming all the way. For anyone else that's considering a Rock Band guitar for GZ,

the beta 6 link is dead
what does that have to do with your guitar not strumming?
check the controller setup thread in the tutorial section
