I think that's the control setup in the game's option menu.
If the drivers are current, it should just work.

there is also a whole tutorial on controllers. Go read that if you have any controller problems. It really helps if you read the available help, before asking. Just a tip...

you could perhaps try downloading a program called xpadder. This will very simply allow you to map the guitar controllers functions to a keyboard, then in GZ you make sure the keyboard settings match what xpadder has and you will have no more problems.

You could use the d-pad instead of the strum bar. I did that for a while, it's fun.

ok thx iamsensay i am now using the xpadder thingy, and the strum works, however there are still complications. the axis thingy. if i move the guitar at all it strums so if i play a song i instantly fail it because for some reason it wants to be able to strum with that to.

You need to keep the guitar still when you're setting up x-padder otherwis it will set up your star power trigger as the strum. Just set it down or something.

ok ignore that i got it to work. however there must be something terrebly wrong with the calibration or something, it almost never reacts when i strum in a song. in the menu however it works fine

Try a slower song or one on easy and see if its still delayed. It could be lag in your system (since the command has to go through Xpadder and then to GZ), in which case you need to free up some RAM or change the priority settings or something. There's smart people who can explain it around here somewhere.
