[edit] well, im not sure if its just my pc or what but i can run the game, but when i go to play a song it exits the game with an error, but i still got the game running so try it out. ok well i've been wanting to play guitarzero 2 for a long time now, and i was messing around this morning and i found some dll's and i figured out how to get it to run on my pc, before it would say i needed pixel shader 1.1 or greater, now it works. Heres how How to play guitar zero beta 2(guitar star) on a computer that doesn't support pixel shading 1.1 Step 1: download guitar zero beta 2 from there site link: www.guitarzero2.proboards78.comStep 2: Download Swiftshader from there site Link: www.transgaming.com/products/swiftshader/Step 3: extract swiftshader and copy the d3d8.dll and the d3d9.dll into the main folder of guitar zero(where the .exe is) step 4: right click on guitarstar.exe goto proporties >compatibility >Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5) Your Done Enjoy the Game! not sure if this will work for everyone, but it does for me, i think im the first to do this.

i'm not sure if you'll ever get this to work quite right.. that's a question for castillo. but if you can get it to play songs without pixelshaders, that would be awesome cuz some people can't play due to having outdated graphics cards. good luck.

yeah, well i got the game to run, but it wont let me play songs, so not sure if this will fully work,
but the message that pops up when i go to play a song is somthing like.. "error notes can only be play in a sequential format" somthing like that.

montney, it's not the fact of the game not letting you play the songs. Certain songs don't work in GZ2 right. Try downloading some more and trying them.

Him i trried this, but when i set the compatibility to win NT, it tells me that Above Normal and Below Normal(prioritys) are not supported in that plattform. In win 2000, 98 and 95 it doesnt even run.
Please tell me how can i make start in normal priority(or whatever is needed for it to start), cause i really wanna play this game(how noobish did that sound?) Thanks.

advan, you have to wait for the next update because callisto (maker of the game) is making process priority optional. Then you should be able to run it

fyi to everyone here: i don't think w/o pixel shaders can happen. because i got it up and running only to get an error every time i try to play a song. and yes i've tried both .dat and .mid and many different songs. so unless someone can find a way, i wouldn't count on it.
