not bad the first bit sounds really minor (like its in a minor key) like the rest, especially the ending.

Nice attempt. But im going to say your going to be more of a rhythm guy.. for ten months your riffs sounded dead on timing wise. Unfortunately your leads and 'solo's' were terrible.. i know its hard to play things good after 10 months thats why im not ripping you apart. but listen to this advice.
Dont worry about how fast you can play things.. whether its leads or solos or whatever.. just concentrate on getting them 100% acurate every single time.. the more you do that.. the speed will com naturally.. trust me.

haha its like violin. only 6 strings instead of 4... and i've "played" violin for a couple of years and i can't compose music on it lol

Actually, I think your lead stuff would be OK but you really need to learn some scales- you're hitting diminished 5th notes which only really work when they're relative to a minor 6th. Or something. Pentatonic scale is your friend. Then, work on the modes (dorian, myxolidian etc.).
Rythem wise, it's fine. Composition-wise... well, it'll come. You need to have better vision of the song as a whole. Try using VST bass and drums for some interest and depth.

i just learned the a minor pentatonic scale recently ( after i made this and most of the positions ) and i also learned the c major scale so ive started to make solos around them and im really working on improving my accuracy more than anything else

Well if you know the major and minor scales (C major is the same as all the others, just different position of the fretboard) then you're all set.
Just remember that the relative minor is 3 half-tones down from the major (e.g. you can play a c major solo over an A minor riff etc.) and that's just about all the notes you can hit. Until you get into chromatics and weird modes and stuff.

Just use your A minor riffs for a c major track and you'll see what I mean. Or F# minor riffs for A major etc etc.

once again no idea what your talking about en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relative_keyLearn that. I know its boring but you need it. It boils down to thiis; C major and A minor scales have the same notes in them and so work together. So, you start your solo in A minor and you can then go into C major riffs and fills.

No offence but i found out there was nothing to even cover.. just random notes being played with the same timing..

yes i know i already said i dont know any scales( at least i didnt when i wrote that ). also i cant play by ear so what i hear in my head never sounds right when i try to play it so as to not double post i deleted the last post and moved it above ^ anyway hzac tell me what you think of this new piece ive been working on its much better and makes use of major scales so you cant say its just random notes cause its not admittedly its not the best thing ever but i think it sounds pretty good. and its also just a start of a whole big solo www.mediafire.com/?2ycnibwz2oy
