Two Ideas About The Background

Hey guys Its the anoyng me again. I have two ideas of what we should do with our lovely background:

1. I have an idea of animating the stage to look like one of the band members. At your point of view you look at the crowd wich is constantly mooving and hopping around etc. From time to time you turn to look at your band members. And you ALWAYS look at the back of the singer because Its not so easy to animate the lips movement for every song. This whole thing ofcourse is 3D.

2. There could be a separate background video for every song like for example for Metallica's One there should be the official video of the song (you know what I'm talkin' about - that black-and-white style video...).

Please tell me what you thin of my ideas.

Those sound like interesting ideas.

Permitting a different video for each song sounds like the easier of the two ideas; it would only require allowing song.ini to specify a video file.

Well I hope It works... I'm going to work on that and see what happens...

Regarding idea 1: I've had that though as well, but I don't manage to create any models (lack of artistic talent), which is why we haven't seen any 3D stages yet. If you manage to create any nice models and animations, I'd be glad to put them into the game.

Regarding idea 2: That video stuff isn't easy, mainly because the X-Box doesn't support any known video codecs. And I don't really want to invest too much time into a feature that won't make it onto the X-Box.

A general comment: I really like that this topic is getting some more attention here now, so I'd hope that we can get something going together. Also, you might want to have a look at this topic:
