I wanna buy a guitar but i am not quite sure which one, so i would ask something just to be sure and make my decision:
1) I have a wireless card on my pc (regular, it allows me to connect to internet or any wireless network). Do I need an especial adapter or it will work? I am asking because i am not sure if the xbox or ps2 or whatever use another type of wireless technology. 2) Are there xbox 360 wired guitars? or that is just fro ps2?.
For the rest i think i could use the information available on the thread.
10x.

the wireless tech you need is a bluetooth adapter not a wireless card

Hi guys.. Need help.. I got this 3rd party wireless guituiar for xbox 360(flying-V). In the box there are guitar, wireless receiver, strap, stickers and the manual. I plugged in the wireless receiver to my laptop(vista) but nothing happen. i've downloaded the gaming drivers from microsoft..nothing happen as well.. guitar batteries were all good.
On the manual...some part are confusing me..
**A.Insert the connector of the original controller correctly to the xbox 360 console(in this case i want to play GZ with my laptop). Now the red indicator LED on the receiver is flashing, the green indicate lights of "guide button" on the original controller is flashing circularly at the same time, wait until one of the light stable down and stop flashing, then it is the time to unplug the original controller from xbox 360 console(again...i want to play GZ on my laptop).
Does this mean i have to get an original xbox 360 controller first??

Well, guys. Let's see if anyone can help me here, I'm getting kinda desperate! I'm having trouble connecting my Nyko Frontman Wireless for PS2 to the PC, or better said, I'm having trouble to get it to work on Guitar Zero 2 (I have the latest version, Beta 6 Update 1). The adapter I'm using is this one: www.saitake.com/en/showproduct.asp?id=137 On the control panel, joypad properties (it appears as "TWIN PS TO PC CONVERTER"), the guitar works fine. In function test it recognizes the presses on all the buttons (save for the whammy bar, but that's the lesser of my problems right now). I've tried it alone, and with JoyToKey, but GZ2 just doesn't recognize it. When I go to input configuring, there are three options: keyboard (the one I'm currently using), Gamepad 0 and Gamepad 1. Whichever I try, nothing happens when I try to map the buttons. Is as if it wasn't even connected. So, am I missing something important here? I dunno, maybe some line in config.xml or something. And as I'm writing this, I'll ask anyway. In case I get it to function properly with your help, guys, does anybody know how to fix the whammy bar? I'm having that problem of it being mapped to the left analog stick and being constantly pressed to the left. I read somewhere that that's 'cause the guitar is in "analog mode", and that in order to switch to digital I had to keep pressed select+start and then strum down, but it didn't work. The whammy keeps laughing at me! ;D Needful info: I'm working under Windows XP SP2, and I've tried pretty much anything you have suggested on this same thread previously, including of course all the methods on the first page. Thanks in advance, dudes!

ehh, i think the USB adapter isnt recognized in GuitarStar.exe it said "TWIN PS TO USB", right? maybe its trying to register it as a ps1 controller, which i dont know if that actually causes any problems.
maybe try inserting just the adapter into your computer, and after it registers, plug in your controller, then start GuitarStar.exe

hey, dude. First of all, thank you for answering! I had posted this message as a new thread on the help sub-forum, before realizing there was *this* thread for it. So I copied it here and deleted the old one. Let me see if I'm following you: you think that maybe it's recognizing the guitar as a PS1 controller, right? I'm not sure... It does say "TWIN PS TO USB" after all. Now that you mention it, I haven't tried to plug a PS2 controller in it, but I guess it should work. A PS1 pad has been tested, and it has the same problem that the guitar: while the driver recognizes it fine, it doesn't work in-game. I'll give a shot at your suggestion, and plug the guitar in the adapter *after* I plug the adapter in. I also ought to try with a whole different adapter. A friend of mine has the exact same guitar and claims he got it to work without problems on his PC, so maybe I'll ask him for his adapter and try it out. I'll let you know any news on this. Thanks!!

I currently downloaded the Guitar Zero game and installed it. When I go to option and set up my controller(GH X-Plorer) all the buttons works except for the strum bar. I cant figure out what I need to do to make the strum bar work. Any suggestions?

First, make sure your guitars are horizontal. If they're pointed up at all it's going to activate the star power button inside and it'll tell you to release a key.
Also, you may have issues with two of the exact same guitar running together. I'm not aware of any issues, but there's a slight chance.

I am having a problem getting my strum bar to register in the game. I am using an Xbox 360 Rock band guitar and I have all of the drivers for it installed. The strum bar registers in the Game Controller area in control panel even. When I try to assign the buttons in game it says "Release Buttons" and won't let me assign any. I also tried to use Joy2Key and was unable to get the strum bar to register there. dont use joy 2 key if its 360 and wired you need nothing more than the 360 contoller for windows program once you've downloaded that plug in the strat gutar a quadrant on the guide button should light, if not update the drivers. once that is done go to input settings in gz2 and instead of keyboard on gamepad0 keep clicking and there should be xbox 1, once that is selected try the inputs the only problems i've had using 360 guitars is the wireless ones with adapter you cant set the iput settings but if i set them with the wired ones the wireless guitars work fine hope this helped

Hi! Me and my friend just tryed to plug in our Xplorers for xbox360/PC- But when we are suppoased to change controllers for the second guitar it says "Release keys" even though we are pressing no keys. plug in both guitars (one at a time) the first one registered the guide button should have lit player1 you guessed it your player one, insert the second one and the player 2 quadrant should light, go the guitar zero, options, input, player 1 player one guitar should have selected "xbox-1" instead of keyboard gamepad0, etc. assign buttons... back out one screen and go to player 2 input the player two guitar (plugged in with xbox drivers installed the p2 quadrant will light up) select "xbox-2" assign buttons back out all the way you'll be prompted to reset, say yes, start up and play. btw always have the guitars plugged in before you start guitar zero or you'll have to go to input and select your controller again (you might not have to assign again just select xbox-1 and xbox-2)

Hey guys, i have a question, how can i play guitar zero 2/ guitarstar with JOYSTICK as any guitar hero? ,that is, playing without push the button "strum". is this possible?. Hi, unfortunately its not possible to play GZ2 with only pressing the frets and not using strum. I assume thats what you meant, it was difficult to make out If you mean that you cant use your strum button and therefore need to play without it, i can suggest ways to get it working? Thanks

well, what I've been using i used to play in middle-level without any problems. What we did was put buttons 'Strum down' button green and blue, and 'Strum up' the yellow and red button. they play in 'hard' i do is push another button next to orange.
for how 'multiplayer', when choosing the difficulty, first press the blue and then green, and works well. the solution i can think of is that the strum was able to appoint three buttons. :/

Has anyone successfuly hooked 2 wiimotes? I can get one to work great. I hook up the second and they both work as 1. press green on player and you get both green fret on both player 1 and player 2. BlueSolell show 2 unique divices connected. I've tried changing wiimote1 to wiimote2 in the GlovePIE script. I've even tried adding duplicate lines to the script one for wiimote1 and wiimote2. I always get 2 controlers working in GZ as duplicates of each other. Any Ideas?

Hey guys, you can make a batch file that starts joy2key and GZ2 at the same time. i just found this out myself ;D 1) Place Joytokey.exe and your config file in the folder that GuitarStar.exe is in. 2) Open Notepad and start a new document. 3) Now, type this without the minus: ------------------------------ start joytokey.exe /wait start /high GuitarStar.exe------------------------------ (thanks to stranxk for starting in high priority) 4) Click File>Save As and save as Example.bat or any other name you want as long as it has .bat at the end. Save as file type "All Files". 5) Right-click this batch file, hit Create Shortcut, and place it on your desktop. Use this whenever you want to play! Enjoy

Hey, I know this topic might be old and the question dumb, but I get an error whenever I try to Update the Driver for The Xbox 360 X-Plorer. It keeps saying that it can't start the hardware, does anyone know what's happening or how to fix this problem?

Gents. Here you are some Xpadder Controllers profiles and configuration files for the NYKO FRONTMAN WIRELESS GUITAR. This version of guitar is PS3 Guitar. I don't know if this config files will work for other platforms (PS2/WII/X360). There are configurations for Guitar Hero Mode and RockBand Mode. All buttons and Whammy bar works well. Additionally, for the RockBand Mode, The Tilt sensor is configured as well. Just put the guitar up when you had starpowers accumulated and enjoy!!! This guitar is a very powerful and cheap product. I do recommend it www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=3e713719893672781bee9a6e9edd9c76e04e75f6e8ebb871
