This is the random thread. This was made possible by the influx of conversations which started popping up, on unrelated Topics. Here we will be able to talk about anything, everything, and Flame (if we want). This thread should not be locked, as this thread is for the sole purpose of Talking about anything, and everything.
Why is it that we always have to "One up" someone, even on the internet, and even if were friends?

i was gonna make a new random thread and link to it in this thread saying "better random thread here" but it would only be for a quick and easy laugh and not really worth it :/
anyways, has anyone here heard of lucid dreaming? it's a dream in which you know you are dreaming. no doubt you've had them but did you know that if you can stay in that dream, you can essentially take control of your dream self and manipulate your dreams? it's like being awake in a virtual reality world, it's very interesting stuff and have been trying to purposely induce them within the past (almost) 2 months. it's wicked, haha.

Funny you said something about that. I had a dream a few days ago, where i could control it, however it didn't last long, i think i woke up, cause it scared me. lol

I actually had one of those dreams, but like acedia, it didn't last long. I was in my dads backyard, only, a fence was missing and it was suddenly night. I started freaking out cause there were weird noises. Then I thought "this is just a dream and I can take control of it" I later started freaking out like, "crap, how do I do it!?" then I got attacked by wolves and woke up.
There are also dreams that I have that cause my whole body to jolt sometimes.. I remember one dream when I was asleep in class: I was walking, tripped, and right as I faceplanted in my dream I woke up with a huge jolt, thus causing me to kick the desk in front of me with great force. (It pissed off the girl in front of me and scared the crap out of her). Pretty embarrassing, but once I explained myself, it seemed like a pretty common thing that other people get too haha.

i rarely jolt in dreams. i can really only think of one time my side twitched me awake, it felt like someone poked me and when i woke up i tensed up that muscle which made it feel like i was poked even after awake, haha. i'm still suspicious >.>
and yea, becoming aware that your dreaming and staying in your dream are two completely different things. it feels very unnatural for your body so most people want to wake up the second it happens. most of my lucid dreams last for 20 sec if i'm lucky >.<

Yeah, I tend to jolt often when i'm taking a nap in a car, bus, train or something. Usually i see a short flash that I'm falling before i wake up. That usually gets me pumped up and I'm not able to sleep after that..
Odd thing about my dreams is that if I'm riding a bike in them I always seem to have big problems with it. Usually I get a feeling that i'm waving on side to side and I can't hold it steady even on a straight line. I've never crashed though.
Besides failing on a bike, I can't run either, i get a weird feeling that my legs are just jammed up and I'm like from a slow-mo baywatch intro.
edit. oh thanks moonflow, i've missed green screen.

Sounds like something from the Movie "Vanilla Sky". Some weird a$$ movie with Tom Cruise in it, doing his wife on screen, and having a messed up lucid dream.

haha, I have to agree with Fude. I can't run in dreams, I either faceplant or have spaghetti noodle legs. A big lol at the bike part. I remember riding my bike to school in a dream, but the tires were flat. By the time I got to school, I was late, and suddenly naked in the hallway.
Note: I rarely have good dreams, just freakin' weird dreams or nightmares.

I have those dreams all the time.. Like all the time. I have a really bad habit of not knowing what's reality and what was a dream.. Like telling a story to my friends waiting for them to remember and realizing it never happened lmao.

I sometimes have nights where I have like 3 microdreams and can remember them. It's rare that I dream at all, but when I do they get pretty weird. I have those dreams all the time.. Like all the time. I have a really bad habit of not knowing what's reality and what was a dream.. Like telling a story to my friends waiting for them to remember and realizing it never happened lmao. Apparently, dreams where you're naked in school are pretty common. (According to Yahoo! Answers at least)

I sometimes have nights where I have like 3 microdreams and can remember them. It's rare that I dream at all, but when I do they get pretty weird. We see hundreds of dreams a night that last for a few seconds. It's our brain that acknowledges only a few that we then may or may not remember. I'm not 100% proof now to say this, but I'm sure this was mentioned on some lessons of the human mind. Related or not (does it really matter, this is random thread anyway), a VIDEO! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptpl68MPqCglaughs or even lols guaranteed.

maybe. i know a dream cycle consists of 5 steps. your rem step (last step) is the longest and most vivid part of your dreams though. usually your first dream cycle lasts 90 min or so and they get longer as the night goes on. most people go through anywhere between 3-5 cycles in a night depending on how much sleep you get. so that guarantees that many different dreams. i guess it's possible to have micro dreams in between rem periods but i've never heard of it. and everybody dreams, every night. they are just extremely easy to forget is all which makes you think you dreamed of nothing. and i think i'm done with dreams. we need a new topic in this thread maybe youtube spam: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Alw5hs0chj0

those squiggly blocks were always my least favourites. Oh and moonflow, i'd rather say 'sleep cycles' you're talking about. So during our sleep we are in REM from 3-6 times a night, yes. And mostly in REM we see most of our dreams. Just to clear that out. Sleep ≠ dream. ok. But yeah enough of dreams. Where is it possible to find that most original version of tetris? Used to have that in SNES when I were a kid.

The oldest Tetris game I ever had was TETRIS for the NES. That sucker was pretty classic, and now I have the 3 tunes from it flowing through my head.
