That works, thanks Teancum. Is there any way to make it not display the (Rock) part after the artist name?

@callisto - Added solo progress display, similar to Rock Band (can be disabled in config.xml) i need documentation on this feature please callisto. Wow the solo meter was a rather pleasant surprise! Especially that it recognizes chart sections with "solo" in the title. One thing I wanna bring up though, Feedback allows you to enter "solo_on" and "solo_off" event tags (I think they're mainly meant for the onstage performers). Using these in addition to the section names to recognize where a solo actually is would allow us to use neat section names and still have it as a solo honestly, if i had been around for the solo implemetation discussion i would have metioned this 1st, because it is the way that rock band demrcates solos...so callisto, please, im just bringing to your attention, if you could ammend the solo demarcation to include "solo_on/solo_off" events in the 'part guitar' note charts for singleplayer/coop tracks, it would be even more compatable with mids, consodering the fact that all gh2 mids contain "solo_on/solo_off" events in their guitar tracks, hich means gh2 solo scoring! that feature coupled with general RB overdrive phrase support = pure win callisto... all in favor?

I was speaking more for *.chart files (being a Feedback fanatic). If the solo_on and solo_off commands work for midis already, then implementing a similar function for charts should be easy as pie.

@callisto
if you could ammend the solo demarcation to include "solo_on/solo_off" events in the 'EVENTS' track for notecharts , it would be even more compatable with mids, consodering the fact that all Guitar Hero 1 & Rock Band DLC mids contain "solo_on/solo_off" events in their notecharts, which means solo scoring!
please focus on gameplay customibility/flexibility callisto! please! thank you thank you.

I wish iancer would stop b!tching about "gameplay customibility/flexibility"
He is the only one complaining. Srsly go play fof.. stop trying to turn gz into it.

Yeah, I gotta go with Hzac on this one. The two games are different and always will be.

you say that like customibility/flexibility is a bad thing.
if callisto adds a new feature to gz2 and it works great with SOME mids. wouldn't it be so much better if it worked for all? iancer is talking about adding the new solo percent counter to gh1 and the our rb dlc. seriously, callisto already added solo, it shouldn't be too much harder to have it read that info from a another part of the mid.
although this isn't a "OMG WE NEED THIS" idea, it's still a good one

i kinda understand iancer, he wants a bunch of features that you can turn on/off wich actualy would be good, but you gotta be patient and understand that callisto is a busy man and he cant work on the game everyday, all you can do is help and try to contribute to the community and if you NEED a feature for example the solo feature, its not like come here and say "i want solos!", callisto dont have time to figure out how to make solos work (he may try but that would take much longer to be implemented) the best you can do is explain to him how that feature should work, what would be nessesary to make it true and stuff like that... now we have solos and it was in very short time

hzacmaybe yu should re-read my post first, then read the definition of a complaint: www.answers.com/topic/complainTo express feelings of pain, dissatisfaction, or resentment. To make a formal accusation or bring a formal charge. i am talking about supporting features EVERYONE will benefit from...do you not like having starpower in your rock band DLC? what if you didnt need to convert each mid to obtain it? my only hope is to be constructive.

you say that like customibility/flexibility is a bad thing. if callisto adds a new feature to gz2 and it works great with SOME mids. wouldn't it be so much better if it worked for all? I'll give you that. It's just that if the community wants it we could simply open the mids in Anvil Studio and add it manually. I mean, we're talking 5 minutes max per mid. If we divide that up between 5-15 people it would go very quickly. To me that seems smarter -- it allows us to continue to give back for a great game, and gives Callisto more time to focus on what he wants/really needs to implement next. For Callisto to do it, he's got to code it, test it, debug it, test it again, etc. I dunno -- It just seems to me from lots of development/modding experience that having the community do it themselves is better. They continue to make great contributions and the author can focus on debugging or features that haven't yet been implemented.

I dont know what version of GZ stepmaniamedia is offering, but this so called ''Beta 6 Update 1" is actually the whole package, so just dl the whole ~18mb, unzip it and youre ready to go.. check this thread for programs you'll need to run the game. www.guitarzero2.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=competition&action=display&thread=1684You might already have some of those apps, but make sure you have them all if you get some problems with GZ. EDIT: Hopefully you dont find that xorange's tutorial insulting

Wow, time to catch up on what I've missed the past week...
Regarding the solo_on/off bit, I think it might be a good idea to have the game look for solo_on/off events first to determine solo sections (these tags are the events that turn the flaming hands on and off in GH2), then, if no solo_on/off events are present in the file, then section names will be used to determine solo sections instead. This or something similar should be suitable for almost any song that has at least one or the other.

I have one question: for movies as the background, is there any way to loop it?
Nice solo sections. Maybe Rock Band MIDI support in the future?

The game already supports RB midis.

The game already supports RB midis. So it supports solo sections and OD phrases present in them? Some of the RB songs I have end up having the solo sections be SP phrases.

did you fix the glitch where if you strum a lot, the song / section in practice automatically ends?
