you guys are crazy. this new meter is how it should have been in the first place. the gh3 meter is (imo) just a tad bit harsher than gh2. the beta 5 and sooner meter was just terrible. i could beat ttfaf and EVEN the tdwdtg dlc like it was nothing! which both songs are way out of my level. i would agree with you about having an option to make it easier but i won't because we have a training mode. i mean, there IS a reason we have it, right?

I like the difficulty now. It's been a while since I've actually failed a song... And I agree to not make it optional, we need some standards. If you want to play so you don't fail, use the Training mode, like moonflow said.

I use training to groove on bass...some tunes have 1500 notes on expert...It'd be cool if gz asked like FoF...

And I agree to not make it optional, we need some standards. Yeah I definitely second that. When we get to online play standards will be a must, so I guess we should get used to it now. In fact, I decided to suck it up and stick with beta6 so I can be ready for online play when it comes ;D

About the difficulty... we have waited for long to get a reasonable rock meter, and like it has been said, the meter is now EXACTLY the same with GH3's, so there should be no difference in that! The possible differences may be in some other things, like teancum said, calibration, also delay etc.. But in my opinion, im just more than happy to really have some challenge with the songs Not beating Jordan with 65% or like that. gadzooksIf you have not had the mirror link yet, i sended it you by PM.

Callisto, in Official Download thread you still have the crashing version. Now I have to wait an hour for new download :-). But the game now looks fantastic! (well, before the crash :-))

Hm, it feels like something is wrong with the difficulty in this version. I fail completely on songs i can complete with ease in Guitar Hero 3(PC version), is there some delay or anything that should be changed? And now im not talking about the rock meter, im talking about total percentage of notes hit each song. In some songs i hit 10-20% less notes then previous GZ version.

brasseChange the CompabilityMode to ''true'' in config.xml, see if that would help a little.

Two words - Adjustable harshness. Put it on the long long list of stuff that should eventually be in the legendary game options menu.
I mean, seriously. So missing a note takes a little more energy now? Put it on training and wait until you can adjust it yourself.

Yeah, I still think it's a latency issue with monitors. Some of us have LCD, others have CRT, etc. and they all draw at different rates. I'm guessing a calibration option like in Guitar Hero 2 (for HDTVs) or Guitar Hero 3 would be in order.

being able to change the stuf in the config.xml through the options menu would be great. idk y it's always blurred or blocked out for me. is this because it's hard to implement or is it just me?
the reason i ask is cuz i always forget what goes where. some of it is self-explanitory "true-false" or "insert your # here" stuff, but other stuf actually requires on of a few correctly written and capitalized words.

Hey, sorry if this seems to be a total n00b question, but I'm new to this whole thing. Where can I download the new beta 6 version? I've tried the rapidshare link several times, but to no avail. Is there a place that I'm just simply overlooking? Any help is much appreciated, and thanks for guitar zero! It definitely rocks. ;D

Some of you enjoy the new difficulty but missed notes are waay to harsh. I'm fine with hit notes meeter being slower but the missed notes seem twice as harsh as GH3.
I could not beat War Ensemble before but now i cant even get to where i kept failing. B5 was ok but it was a little easy, it should be between 5 and 6. I just dont see the point in trying to make it 100% accurate to Guitar Hero 3. That should be left up to the modders. There is no Hyperspeed either. If you want it to be GH3 then at least give me a hyper speed option. Its a trick of the eye, not a cheat. I use HS-3
But it is a great program a love what it has become since the early days
