GH3 too? whats the problem? In the original game, HOPO's Notes have a glow effect.

Yes, and in GZ, it doesn't support the "glow" effect on the notes yet.

i think jlou is talking about that shiny thing the notes have going. Kinda like in the GH3 mod, the regular notes are just images, and the hopo's are actual models, so they kind of "shine" which makes them stand out.
and to answer your question jlou, GZ doesn't support the glowing affect on image notes (and all the rock band notes are images). And the reason we don't have a shiny effect on these rock band notes is because all of the notes are images, and for the hopo's to have the shiny effect, they have to be models, and the reason we don't have models is i guess because we're too lazy, and it would slow the game down if the notes were too high poly.

Does anyone have a model of a plane that is textured with a glowing note?

i did glowing notes ages ago, i even posted a screenshot showing how the game displays them, top and the bottom version showed how having no fretboard graphic seemed to effect it for some reason

Ok, thanks all! Now, it could be a challenge to make glow effect!

hey jd, can you tweak the color of the notes in starpower (after starpower is activated)? it is very difficult sometimes to distinguish the notes from the board cuz everything is golden! if you can thats fine, or maybe dim the brightness on the starpowered fretboard?
thanks.

well the problem is fatdog never relased starpower notes so i just used the yellow notes for when starpower is activated

Personally I think the HOPOs and SP notes are all fine. I don't have any trouble with 'em. but I haven't played RB in a while so if there's more work to be done then by all means give fatdog a few pokes

please, no glowing hopo's in this mod. I remember the first time playing RB and I couldnt tell hopos from regular notes, then I realized the hopos are slightly smaller. No glow if you're trying to go for accuracy.

XD i wanna at least see the glow. i think this mod looks great as is but if it can get better, i'd have no complaints, haha

The notes in Rock Band don't glow for a reason, please stay true to the game

why are people going on about glows in rb notes, this subject just happened to come up in this thread but we are talking about a general feature for the game, i don't recall saying i was going to add glows that shouldn't be there, your making a fuss over nothing

fr real, fatdog is rite. You're making inferences or something man.
We're trying to "stay true to the game" here. It's just something general that just happened to get brought up in this thread.

I don't think anyone has made them, but if someone would like to record them, that would be great!

When SP/OD in RB is activated, the notes still retain their original colors (GRYBO), amirite?

They should in RB, but its not supported right now, so they turn yellow.

Oh yeah, i forgot that only two notes (ho/po and not) are used for activated sp/od in GZ, like GH.

Thanks luik14!
Guys, remember that the Rock Band mod was meant to run at 800x600, so if you run a different resolution (even with luik's updated menus.xml) things won't appear in the right spot.

Can you figure out how to make a rock band stage? Just like replace the 8bit images with rock band ones?
