And I've cleaned up the login and register pages, and also added a password recovery page. I have also completed the song database system to where a song can now be added, viewed, and removed from the database from the website alone. Unfortunately, there is still no way to upload files, but I am working on it.

Is the site gonna allow the use of DDL links (mediafire, etc.) as opposed to going directly through the server? This would take some load off of your site, and allow all the existing wiki entries to be easily brought over

-Confusingboat How are planning on doing it? Are you streaming the file to the database or storing as a file on the web server itself?

The last time I spoke with him about it, it would allow for both external links to be used for MF, along with files to reside on the web server itself.

Yes, in the song addition page there is a checkbox that says "Have File", so if you have the file, it will make visible an upload control, if not, then it will leave the URL box open for you to type in the URL of the file. There are many features on the page; I'll edit this post with a screen of it. EDIT: Everything available on the song addition page, with the exception of uploading a song. Currently there is extremely limited space on the server, and I'm not certain if I even have the application rights to upload files other than ftp. Still working out the bugs -- recently it's been giving me a syntax error on my SQL Insert command, even though it's 100% correct. I've checked it over at least 20 times. Pissing me off... Also working on debugging the actual song database page. Having a fun time trying to reference dynamically created controls (must do this so that the rating will load with the song for users to view). To check out the test songs that were added, go to the song database page in the download section of the site.

This my sound stupid. But shouldn't the Wiki have it's song database link right on top in that yellow bar.

This song database is intended to replace the Wiki's song database. Mainly because this one will be interactive, in that users will be able to view song stats and rate the songs. It also provides a more user-friendly way of adding songs to the database, and unifies the entire system.

Is there any way to specify if the song contains a rhythm/bass chart (or separated audio tracks for that matter...is that what "original artist" means)?

Is there any way to specify if the song contains a rhythm/bass chart (or separated audio tracks for that matter...is that what "original artist" means)? I have not found a way with Midi. But with chart files on feedback you can set it to seperate charts for different parts (buy pressing F1 F2 etc) and if you have master tracks like you are an original artist you can set it up for separate tracks.

Oh yea I make rhythm charts all the time. I was just wondering if there will be some sort of notification when you browse various songs on the site. I mainly ask this because not all of my charts have rhythm (some songs have extremely drowned out backing instruments...or I'm just lazy).

The original artist option is for songs that have separate tracks but are still by the original artist.

I dunno if this is even an issue with you, but you might want to think about storing the actual files on the SQL server if you haven't already. Storing them there then streaming them to file for the user will allow you not to have leechers that find your /songs directory and find a way to just download in bulk. Even if you block off that folder by user in the web.config once a user is logged in they can use one of many site downloaders to just download the whole folder.
Again, dunno how big of a deal that is, but if you want to kill off leechers and keep accurate stats on how many downloads something has I'd stream it to/from the SQL server.
