callisto you dont overlay a sound for wammy you run the sound through a sort of i guess you could call it a filter and it changes the pitch Playing an overlay sound could work better though, especially with custom songs since a filter would change the pitch of everything (vocals, drums, etc) rather than just the guitar. A simple overlay, assuming it's well done, would give the same effect, but not be nearly as destructive to the sound of the song. Not to mention it'll probably require less resources and a less sophisticated sound card to pull off... so, you know, it'll be compatible with more peoples rigs.

Callisto, do you think it's possible to mute the guitar track when we don't play guitar ?
Because I always hear the guitar track (volume is low) when I don't play guitar in a song.
In GH3, only the rythm track and the song track are played in game, until you hit the correct notes (then the guitar track play). And if you hit and miss the note, you have a weird sound only.
It will be more realistic.

alan90As long as the song you're playing actually has different audio tracks, GZ will mute the Guitar Track. For a better orientation, it will leave the Guitar track at a very low volume, though. Go into config.xml and change the audio volumes if you want to turn if off completely. flipsk8r1409See Dreakon's response. dreakonYeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Now it's just a matter of getting our hands on a (free) one.

Is it the song option ? Thanks in advance.

In multiplayer, if player 2 pauses, only player 1 can control the dialog and unpause, restart, etc. It works fine for player 1 though.

I got this error seemingly randomly in the middle of a song. Never got it before (that I can remember) and I've played this same song several times before in its entirety so I don't think its song related. Using Beta 4 Update 2 (the latest at this moment). P.S: Sorry if this error was already posted or something. I haven't really been keeping track.

We seem to be having a retarded problem. You know how it used to make the notes transparent when you make the fretboard transparent? Well, now it's doing it to the other stuff. Flames, Fuse, long note things, etc. Its anoying, cuz Im making a mod which uses a transparent fretboard :/ PROBLEM 2: vvv I have recently discovered another problem. Look at this pic. Left is Frets on Fire, right is GuitarZero. Notice the fretting? THATS THE SAME PART OF THE SONG.. So the frets SHOULD be in the same place on both games, however, GuitarZero seems to have F'ed it up somehow. The song is a FoF song. All I did was place it into the songs folder in GZ2. Now. It should look like the left, in FoF. But it looks like the right, in GZ2 for some reason. It seems to do this with other songs. I just recently noticed it was a problem with GuitarZero, when I asked the creator of the song about the fretting, and he explained that the picture I showed him(from GZ) was wrong. I then took the song and played it in FoF and found out he was right. The song seems to have been messed up in Gutar Zero. It does this with other songs to, as I have noticed a decent ammount of "odd" fretting, like that. It changes a Ho/Po set of notes, to a bunch of 2 note chords.

I've found that I usually get that when using ghex to make my midis. They work fine in Guitar Hero, but not in GZ2.
The chart2mid2chart converter seems to work for me all the time. Maybe you could use that to "fix" those songs until callisto fixes that problem in GZ2. Also, the latest version of Feedback will open midi files properly, so you could probably use that to convert to chart, if needed.
Hope you can make it work.

Only problem is, theres a good amount of songs that do that. And I want them to be able to work in both FoF and Gz. Right now its a .mid, and works fine with fof. I'd just use Fof, but the mod I have takes forever to load a song

txf, darthslaw Guys, you should have seen me say that quite often by now: If you have a problem, UPLOAD that song. I'm currently not working on fixing ANYTHING in that direction, because all my songs are working fine. So, unless you want me to diagnose the problem from the picture, please upload the song

Here's that Duke Nukem Jam again... The zip has two versions of the song in it -- one was converted with ghex and the other with the Chart2Mid2Chart converter. I removed all extra tracks (bass, triggers, etc) and cloned the Events track for song section name purposes. The solos are the most prominent comparison example of the notes gone crazy wrong. www.mediafire.com/?sojyywosfnt

First let me start by saying thanks for adding x-plorer support... I've been waiting patiently for it and I can finally use my whammy bar That being said... I've only found a few problems so far, some of which were mentioned so I guess this would be confirmation. I've gotten repeated crashes, unfortunately nothing I can report because it was not the usual giant screen full of error read-outs... it's something to the effect of "GuitarStar has stopped responding", and asks me to close it. I seem to get this when I enter the sub folders for GH2 or 80s. The first song previews for like 1 second and crashes. I've managed to get it to play but I am not sure if it's a random crash, or running in administrative mode that fixes it. The only other thing I noticed is that some songs seem to be out of sync slightly with their drum tracks, the notes will be dead on with the guitar tracks.. but the drums n background will be off just enough to notice. The songs I noticed it on most were "seventeen" off the 80s as well as "play with me".

it seems that everytime guitarstar.exe gets out of the immediate memory of the computer the next time you bring it up it crashes loading the stars it seems that they load to slow but the next time you bring it up the stars are in immediate memory so it wont crash. at least thats the way its happened for me

the reason ho/pos are chords is because of the bpm, you MUST lower the BPM for them to be made into ho/po generally around 120 BPM- to change open fof and go to song editor , pick song, get menu up, set beats per minute to 120, save song. Take song and place in your GZ song directory TADA

well, you obviously use characters which isn't supportet by the font.. What I tought, right? Except, the music I was trying to play was not in special characters. It was a simple GH2 song, and I tried with several others. I have no idea what font he means, though, because I am using the game's default font. Also, glad the shaders have been lowered.

@crazy.neo Uh... you're using a non-english and non-german version of windows. The game is trying to show an error message to you, which got localized to your language. However, the characters used in the error message are not supported by the font. Will be fixed in the next version.
