I found a little bug in training mode, when choosing a song section. I will make an example: I have a song. I want to choose section 1.00 - 2.30. I highlight the "1.00", and when i'm scrolling down towards the later sections, the background song examples go wrong.. it seems that it counts the "1.00" point as a song beginning, so the background sounds messes up Go try it yourself, if you don't understand what i mean..

Hi, i put a video for GZ Beta 3, update 2, but i met with all of this: 1.- For place a video like background we need to put a Stage.avi file into the Resources\videos\ folder, but we don't really need a .avi file; we need a .mpg file, and then we change the name and the extension, but it runs with .mpg file renamed to .avi file, despite it is an mpg file. 2.- The video is inverted, like a mirror image. Look at the picture, the tittle in the right is from the video. 3.- The Guitar.ogg, and maybe the Rythm.ogg sounds, dont know the last one. But Song.ogg didn't sound!!! 4.- My computer was freeze 2 times. I think it was for that.

I've installed GZ, put on update 1, then 2.
I am using a wireless Guitar Hero 3 controller connected to an EMS USB2 Dual Shooter adapter, and it works perfectly with everything (for example, Fret Nice, Frets on Fire) but in Guitar Star, it just says RELEASE BUTTONS when I try to set my controls in options and won't let me bind them.
I could just use joy2key but that's just lame, and doesn't give me propper whammy bar support.
EDIT: My guess is that it's freaking out because of the controller always holding down left on the D-pad.

ZiggyZagg The left d-pad is always on because thats how the pc knows that its a guitar controller instead of a regualr ps2 controller. Joy2Key does have a split second lag but it gets the job done

i've had a few problems with Update 2, or maybe just BETA 3.
1. sometimes after i've played a couple songs and been to the menu a couple times, the background music gets "stuck" playing and it plays through each song (in the background, very annoying) and through the menus, including the pause menu
2. sometimes my rythm.ogg files dont play correctly with my songs in-game, so i have to delete them (not really a problem, but it occurs in Freebird and is very obvious!)
3. frequently after starting up the game, i get a mouse pointer in my menu and when i hit enter (like to choose a song) the game crashes with an error report
now to fix problem number one, as a temporary fix, i made a blank track, named it "menubackground.ogg", and then placed it in the sounds folder over the original, that way if the track got "stuck" anymore it wouldn't make any noise overtop of my actual song while i play
hope this ^ helps anyone else with this problem

xorange90xRegarding 2.: If you can, upload that song (incl. dat/mid file and all audio tracks). Otherwise, there's probably nothing I can do.

the rythm.ogg on freebird sounds like hush, but it's a different filesize... It isn't a bug. Just the rythm.ogg is wrong. I found it in my rythm.ogg on freebird, mother and strutter

STAGE VIDEO ON GUITAR ZERO?
ITS TRUE?
|
|
|
Post by unnotas on Feb 16, 2008 12:20:51 GMT -5
Yes, it's true... Open config.xml and change <Stage>Image</Stage> to <Stage>Video</Stage>.
Put the video in \Resources\videos\ folder, you need a mpg file renamed to Stage.avi
But it doesn't run ok.

just a small thing i noticed while playing.
when your star power ends (mine was at x8) , the score meter still says x8 until you hit another note.

mmm ur talkin about Guitar Zero 1, Guitar Zero 2 (beta1,beta2,beta3) needs Directx 9.0c (jan 2007 update i think) pixel shader 2.0(video cards include it a few motherboards have it)
the question is
do you have video card?

thank you for trying to help tracker22, but im not a [censored] nub cake...
I CLEARLY said "GUITAR STAR", which is what callisto named the original "guitar zero 2" project, which is what I am talking about, not guitar zero 1. christ...
anyway, im talking the very first release, the one where he released the .exe and resource files seperate............ yea, that one.. it works fine, but none of the updates after that work, they give me the error... im thinking maybe callisto put in an auto detect if shader 2.0 is present and if its not, its a device thats not compatible??? cause i was having the phantom notes problem on the first release... yea, i think i just answered my own question.

jaymdI think you already answered that question However, I'm trying to lower the requirements to Shader 1.1 in the next release. No promise, though... Bye, Callisto

Beta 4 is out! Can we have a new, clean Bug Report thread? Maybe a new requests thread too...
