I thought you could alter sound volumes in the config.xml.......

That's true, but you can't alter that menu volume which eckl was talking about.. <CrowdVolume>30</CrowdVolume> <CrowdClapVolume>100</CrowdClapVolume> <ScrewUpVolume>40</ScrewUpVolume> <MissVolume>20</MissVolume> <SongVolume>95</SongVolume> i really hope to see "MenuVolume" or something like that in one of next beta releases

I've found a small bug in the More Stats screen.
The 'More' button in the results window, is mapped to the F5 key no matter how you map your players keys in the config screen. e.g Player one has frets 1-5 mapped to D1-D5 and Player two has frets 1-5 mapped to D6-D0 but hitting fret 5 of any player does nothing. You still have to hit F5 to see the detailed breakdown of your performance. Not a biggie, but I thought that I would point it out.

paulekuYou're saying that you have .net 2.0. However, you need .NET 2 SP1 for XNA 2.0... If that doesn't work, use file monitor (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/FileAndDisk/processmonitor.mspx) and please tell me what file it can't open. hzacClearing this bug-thread was a really, really nice idea. We should actually do this regularely! Thanks, Callisto K installed that but still getting this:

paulekuUpdate your graphic cards drivers and reinstall DirectX using the Web Installer. If that doesn't work, then your graphics card probably just doesn't support Shader 2.

@ xwideout I got the same error, dunno why, feels like this version is less stable as the error occurs both in menu and in select song screens. Although never crashed during a song.

I know we have talked about this earlier, but i really think that the background music in the setlist is still very loud. Maybe a possibility that you could lower it at the same time when adjusting "SongVolume"?

Notes are appearing out of order in terms of layering (more noticeable with some custom notes, than with the default ones, but it's happening in both cases). For a string of notes close enough together that they overlap, the first note (the one you'll be playing next) appears behind the others, so that the note you'll be playing last is on top. See screenshot:

maybe related to a similar thing as above with the draw order, the note models themselves don't draw correctly when there are layers of overlaping polygons, any complicated models seem to show this effect, taken a screenshot of a clear example, i've made one big so its easier to see, the center part of the model doesn't display properly and parts of the model that should be behind other parts are visible, i can send the model files to you if it would help identify the issue

I've also noticed this happens on relatively simple models, if the elements are grouped (or even if they were grouped at one point, then ungrouped). Not sure what about that process causes the effect, though.

I seem to be having a problem since I updated to the newest update. Sometimes, not always, but sometimes, when I go to pick a song, the "stars" won't show up one a certain song, or a group of songs(in the song list), then a pop-up comes up saying "GuitarStar has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The game stays open until I close the error window, then the game closes. However if I leave it open and try to play, it will mess up anyway.

GZ2 Beta3 update2 I think I found a bug in Restart in Training Mode. Hope this isn't just me again If in training mode, you play the track though to the end and then select 'Restart' to play again, the main menu sound track plays over the song your trying to practice. Kind of makes it hard to follow lol! If you hit 'Esc' before the song/section finishes and then select 'Restart', then this does not happen. The track plays cleanly. Marzz

My wireless PS2 guitar doesn't work. I DO have a USB converter. While I was trying to configure the keys I got this error. Free Bonus Information: I'm running Vista. !!!!!!! The controller is shown and working in Control Panels->Game Controllers. I tried the preset configuration and that also did not work (in the menu under gamepad0 all the keys were still blank/unset). I have a PS2 game controller which I tried and it also did not work. My guitar controller works with Frets on Fire.

I don't know about your problem in general, but the message means that the controller was "stolen" from GZ, while GZ was running.
Examples of this happening are: - You unplug the controller, while the game is running - You open a configuration program (or the windows gamepad control panel), while the game is running.
If you didn't do any such thing, then maybe your Guitar isn't Controller 0, but controller 1 or 2...?
