Hey everyone, I thought I might make a thread for people to post anything they know about solo detection in GZ and how to make it work. I'll start it, of course.
For anybody using Feedback to chart their songs, if you use the .chart to .midi converter, please note that some events may be ignored, such as solo activation. If you also cannot seem to get GZ to register solo activation with straight up .charts alone, then this may help.
When using Feedback, you probably know of Section names(R), and Events(E), but you also need to note the (W) key, or Track Events. Track Events are what you want to use for things like solo activation. So that you can tell them apart: (R)Section Names: appear in a dark blue. (E)Regular Events: appear in white. (W)Track Events: appear in a light blue/teal.
Hope this helps anybody using Feedback to chart their songs.

My notes on the solo events solo = song event (E key) Changes some lighting and camera behavior in the guitar hero games, but currently has no meaning to GZ2 (testing verified) solo_on = track event (W key) Makes hands catch fire in guitar hero games and perhaps has some control over the guitarist's behavior as well. In GZ2, this event starts a solo section. The solo section should be closed with a corresponding solo_off track event solo_off = track event Turns off flaming hands and other solo-related stuff in guitar hero games. In GZ2, this event ends a solo section started by a solo_on track event. Note that if a chart/mid has no solo_on/off track events, then GZ2 will count any song sections with "solo" in the section name as a solo section (likewise, if solo_on/off events are present, GZ2 does not create solo sections during these song sections) If multiple "solo" sections follow one another consecutively, then the multiple sections will be treated as a single solo section. For example, suppose your song layout is like this: intro intro_solo verse chorus gtr_solo_2a gtr_solo_2b bridge gtr solo_3 ending
Then your song will have one solo section during "intro_solo", another solo section during "gtr_solo_2a" and "gtr_solo_2b", and a third solo section during "gtr_solo_3".
