Callisto, I was just curious, you had mentioned a while ago in my roadmap request that many times you can just be waiting for art and stuff to finish up ideas. I'm sure when you're working on GZ2 you are probably doing something with 3D, but at the same time I'm not sure if you ever got a 3D stage and characters to work with. Please let us know what kinds of things you need to keep the work going.
Oh, and is it safe to say that if its in GH/RB then you are planning on implenting it so its pointless to mention all the ways GZ2 differs and call them "Requests"?
Thanks!

Hi,
1.) Art / 3D Models Yes, I am definitely waiting for those. Unfortunately, I did not yet receive a single 3d stage that would actually import into XNA. Therefore, that would be a real winner.
2.) GH / RB Requests Well, I'm not necessarily implementing a feature just because it's in RB or GH. There are multiple factors to it. Mostly, the questions I ask are: - How many people want the feature? - How difficult is it to implement? - Does it conflict with the overall game?
So in a way, hearing requests contributes to the first factor.
3.) Current Status I currently working on supporting drums in GZ. However, I figured I'd refactor the code along the way so that I will later be easier to implement other instruments, like singing. This takes some time though, so don't expect the next release to happy too quickly.

Its a huge bummer the Halo stage wasnt importing and that I dropped the project. Sure wish I could do modeling agian, but sadly, not happening for awhile until I get a new computer. Plus, it'd be good if someone still has the full stage, I lost everything and dont even have the download links. If someone can get it for me, I might be able to try a few more conversions of the stage on my brothers computer.

1) Never done 3D in my life, but I just downloaded Milkshape3D, is it just .fbx that you need? Why are some of the others failing? I thought akatabrask had a stage he was going to get to you? I could do something that was really crappy and incomplete compared to others, but I will begin working on this. 2) Alright, good to know. 3) So I should order parts for my drum kit! Awesome...oh, and I have some thoughts for things like "Trumpet Hero" and "Trombone Hero" and the like, so support for other instruments with new names would be cool...will this also include 3 player games or at least 2 player? Thanks!

lmao, if we had support for trumpet, i'd seriously pull out some of my ska and fret trumpet *wonders how efficient blowing into the keyboard would be* hmmm... but anyways, i'm glad to see this. we need more of callisto talking with us about the project. there seems to be a big gap between the developer and the community. seriously callisto, when you need something, keep telling us that you need it, otherwise it'll probably never get done (we like to procrastinate ;D ). either that or you should start an official gz wip thread, pretty much the road map idea.

yes i also like the idea of just a thread for callisto to talk w/ the "big idea people," and 3-d modelers and maybe some of the better knowledged community, as well as other people in the gz community about the game.
Also it might be cool just to have a post for callisto to just talk w/ people on the forums.

Sorry to bring this up here, but theres always a lot of mention about txf, well i dont think hes an active member anymore. His last login was: Last Login Date: Jun 22nd, 2008 at 4:33 Also, a seperate thread for callisto to ask what he wants of us is a good idea. Though anybody should be able to fulfill the request cjb, not just a few deemed "big ideas people" You never know who can do what.

You never know who can do what. iceflake anyone? @callisto - Please check out my new stage thread in the submissions section here . It is craptacular but I uploaded 3 files of different formats from Milkshape3D. There is one .fbx and two .x's. Please check them to see if they work and what you need from others. As I understand it there are about 4 stages in progress, and all 3 of the other ones are better than mine (for one, they have textures!) *shrug* As far as a post for callisto by callisto, I always wondered about a blog type thing for him to write what he's working on, what he's looking for, and how we can help...perhaps a locked thread in this development area OR the submissions area, so it'd be close to the art that is submitted for the game.

Yeah, a blog might be fun. I'll see if I can get one at blogspot or blogger...

i didn't read the title of this thread or read any of its contents and therefor suggested career mode. i deserve to be burned by hzac but was saved by CJB100. next time i WILL post in the correct thread, and hopefully NOT suggest a feature which has an estimated time til release and has been suggested 5,000 times. ;D

lmao, if we had support for trumpet, i'd seriously pull out some of my ska and fret trumpet Actually, if we get mic support you should be able to play trumpet (or ANYTHING) into the mic so you could fret any part of a song. I call kazoo hero!

Actually, I'm planning for "Trumpet Hero" be on the same line as guitar hero. I can't don't play an instrument, and don't have time to learn. So I was thinking about modding a real trumpet to be a controller (much like my drumset) using some switchest for the buttons and a switch to see that you blew into the tube. I know there are certain techniques I won't be able to do, but guitar zero can't simulate everything either.
We'll see if it ever happens. I have head full of ideas and only so much time and money to do them all...some people compare me to Da Vinci....(only in the number of projects, not in intelligence, artistic, or engineering ability)
