1. When i play pro face-off, gz2b5a suddenly decides to finish a song in the middle of it. not at a exact point, just random places. 2. Maybe i got this wrong, but i tried to disable the newspapertitle by changeing this: <SavedLayerConfig id="heading"> <X>center</X> <Y>0.3</Y> </SavedLayerConfig> to this: <SavedLayerConfig id="heading" /> what happend was that it was moved to the upper left corner. i can use X01 and y=1, then it goes outside of the screen, but i didn't find a way to disable it, which i would prefer. I also miss the posisting for the song title, and it would be nice to be able to place note streak, artist and year if presented in song.ini, and ability to change the font colors.. Great job so far callisto

hulkhaugenIssue #1 has been fixed for the next version. Regarding issue #2: Aren't we just arguing syntax here? I mean, setting x=1 and y=1 does what you intend to do, doesn't it?

Firstly excellent work Callisto Tis a fine GH Clone for shure. Just love the Co-Op play and the ability to practice bass and rhythm. but couple of little niggles.... I'm Having a problem with 'Star Power' getting stuck on! There doesn't seem to be a particular song it happens with. It seems to be random. What happens is... your build up your star power i.e don't activate it on the first "Star Power" ready message, then at the best time for maximum gain you let rip and it stays on for like forever! I know that in the real GH games the more power you build up, the longer it lasts but for 60 seconds plus? I was playing 'Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd' in medium and had the multiplier @ x8 with star power on, and the only way I could get star power to turn off after at least a minute, was to miss a [censored] load of notes. Great for bumping up the scores, but I don't like to cheat Also maybe not so much a bug as an oversight, but would it be possible to fix the 'Detailed Breakdown' Screen so it scrolls if there are more song sections than the screen can initially hold? Carry on the great work dude Marzz.

I'm having a problem where GZ shudders mid-song, hangs for about 10 seconds, then continues.
In multiplayer it occaisionally has a white flash. I THINK these are only happening on one of my pcs though... which is only a year old. Any suggestions on how to stop it?

I have 2 bugs to report and 1 suggestion
Bugs: 1: If your playing training on any song on any difficulty and finish whatever it is your doing and press RESTART you can hear the backround music for the title screen if you have any that is... 2: Star Power seems to either last forever or a couple milliseconds at times
Suggestions: 1: YOU NEED A STAR POWER METRE or at least allow the star power to ecceed 2 doses XD thanks hope this helps
Thanks YOU GUYS ARE GODS!

As I was saying in the Beta5a thread... I tried to play Freebird(Gh2) in training- .mid file When CompatibilityMode is set to false, the game closes as soon as I hover over GuitarSolo A(I dunno if it does it with other sections)... When CompatibilityMode is set to true, the game closes as soon as I go to select a song speed, same error messages as before. Error Message:

One of my favorite custom songs I downloaded off of Scorehero (.chart), suddenly seems to be missing the majority of its HO/PO's in this Beta 5a. It's worked fine for the most part since .chart support was added, but after updating to Beta 5a, it seems a little messed up. Here's the song: www.mediafire.com/?k9ueujrzmtyThanks callisto! Hopefully this can get fixed up, I love this song.

ok so i was wrong star power does last WAY to long in case you didnt figure it out the length of a sp varies depending on bpm but it seems to always last the same length for me during every song

flipsk8r1409Unless you have an actual definition of how long starpower lasts, I'm thinking that the current implementation is correct.

Does the same apply to chart files? The song I posted is a .chart, not a midi. I was under the impression that .chart files actually specified which notes are HO/POs... though I could be wrong.

dreakonChart files do not specifiy hopos exactly. In fact, even feedback has had several changes during its history regarding the definition of what notes are hopos.

I have noticed a short glitch while playing a song. If I play a star power phase through correctly, usually i see the lightning, ofcourse, but in this beta, the game freezes for about 0.1-0.2 seconds.. and sometimes the rock meter and score meter disappears and there's just weird big white-grey pixels on their places. This happens also in beta 4. It's hard to get a screenshot of it because the glitch doesn't last very long, but i will try that I'm using the GH3 mod, and i will test tomorrow, does this glitch happen on normal GZ. Otherwise, the beta 5 seems to be pretty ok, thanks for the update callisto!! Keep up the good work!

i just realized something; if the rhythm.ogg is rhythm, and not bass, it shouldn't be played together with the song.ogg and guitar.ogg. I found out that now while getting together all the missing rhythms.ogg from gh2. That's why they have been deleted earlier. The problem with them is that is sounds like you're hitting the note even if your not. so if you disable the rhythm (i repeat: not bass ), it will be perfectly like gh2. I'm not sure if it should be vica verca if you play the rhythm notes, but i would guess so. leave the guitar out if you're training on a rhythm sound.

@ callisto i think/hope you can see how the starpower works here www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=378also, about the values for the rockmeter. you can devide it into 130 pieces. 1 miss/screwup = 3 pcs 1 hit = 1 pcs 1 hit on starpower note = 3 pcs 45 misses = fail if you start failing from the top. 129 hits from the bottom = Oh yea in starpowermode it's the other way around 1 miss/screwup = 1 pcs 1 hit = 3 pcs

New beta, new bugs: - Whammy effects can screw the sound up for the song. Total shocker XD. The odd thing is when I hold my whammy bar down to the end of a hold and play a regular note, the sound goes back to normal .
- My assmption about the SP problem people are having is when there is a change in the BPM of a song. Probably why I get SP for practically half of the Free Bird solo when I get SP normally in the part before the solo as well as in some other songs.
- Still way too easy to pass songs without SP. Not a bug IMO, but it should be noted. I can pass Eruption and Jordan w/o SP and missing notes that would make me fail if it was in GH.
- The game still doesn't like me strumming HO/PO notes. Whenever I strum it like I do in GH and RB, is says I missed it. This is especially true when there is a fret change in an alt-strumming section of a song, like in Misirlou or The Light That Blinds.
May post more when I find more. Left out the HO/PO problem since Callisto already addressed it.

@callisto It's got all you need in that post. It clearly states in 'V. Using Star Power' Quote: "The amount of time it lasts is based on measures, and the amount of star power you have (duh). A half filled star power meter lasts 4 measures. A completely filled star power meter lasts 8 measures. Note: In GH2's co-op mode, star power does not last as long and the following rules apply: A half filled star power meter lasts 3 measures. A completely filled star power meter lasts 6 measures. Note: This star power duration is based on measures, not beats. The number of beats that a star power will last is dependent on which time signature you're playing in (in another words, how many beats are in a measure). " End Quote So to have star power activated for over a minute as I had playing Free Bird, is clearly wrong! Should be 8 bars Max. Marzz.

My first post in here.
Here I go: playing with a Les Paul guitar controller for xbox 360 w/ the wireless receiver on vista whammy don't seem to work properly.
GZ 5a adds a new function to modify the sound w/ the whammy bar, the problem is when mapping the buttons: GZ 5a takes the mid position of the whammy as neutral, so, when playing held notes, the sound is modified, although the whammy bar is not pressed.
If I hold the whammy bar near its middle position the sound is OK, if I press it the sound is properly modified (but only as if, when properly working, holding the whammy on its middle position), but when I release it (I mean, always), held notes sound weird.
This is the most noticeable bug Ive seen on this beta.
It also would be nice to be able to see how many SP have we got, a better SP activation when using a guitar controller (I mean, it doesn't activate when I tilt up the guitar, but when I hold it on its neutral position, when it is horizontal).
3d rendered sceneries and any start/end song effects (like the "explosion" on GH2) would also be great.
However, great job.
PS: please, don't blame at my English. I'm a Spanish student. I'm trying to do my best.

3 Bugs I've Found 1. The Same as up 2. The Starpower is only for a milisecond and then away -.-, at the beginning it works fine but in the end, the starpower is only for a short moment and then away 3. A Soundbug when you hold sustains, somethings scratching

Same bugs as PCB94. On the sustained notes, I think it has to do with the pitch shifting volume. Maybe if the volume were turned down a bit on the pitch, it would have a much smoother transition and help with the clicking and scratching on sustained notes, but for it to be the first attemp with pitch shifting, it doesn't sound that bad, it will only get better

@pcb Regarding issue #3: Did you possibly configure your controller so that it holds the whammy down continuously? I don't have that problem and I can't reproduce it (and it probably won't be fixed unless I can)
