UPDATE3: I was thinking min/max song time should be around 1:00min - 3:00min.......any input on this would be great.
UPDATE2: I would like some people to help with this one.....i have too many other things going on.......SO if ANYONE wants to help, then please reply and tell me what section/practice song you want to make.
I would also like to get a "DEFINED" layout and min/max song time and that sort of thing worked out too.

was thinkign of making a guide to tapping, but it'd be nice if you could throw it on here instead (start with a GR HOPO and then add the tapped yellow after a few bars or something).

flipsk8r1409: the quad chords are seen in a few customs, plus it makes a nice addition CJB100: yes this is a tutorial type thing... i have so many friends that are having a hard time with lots of different stuff, so i guess i am trying to give beginners , the elite, and everyone in between some things to practice that are common amongst GH, RB, and Custom songs. canped: i was going to throw that sort of thing in the mix somewhere, but now that you mention it, i may just add a "Tapping" section, if I do...credz to you will be made @everyone: thanks for your input

I might help, maybe this'll be a good first song for me... Tell me a bit more about how these songs should work? Like do we have to make our own songs and then fret them? Or just find a suitable existing song?

i was just compiling some easy, medium, hard, and expert type tracks with FruityLoops and then making a Feedback chart for each one. I will try and get a few samples posted of what i have soon... EDIT: i was just doing the GUITAR parts and then converting the mid to wav (ogg).....it really would take too much time (with my minimal skills) to do all parts (guitar, bass, drums, etc....) Generally, i was trying to start of with simple patterns and progressively make them harder....like starting with 1/2 notes and going all the way down to 1/16, 1/32 notes, etc... Here is a "rough" example of BPM's for FULL SPEED i was using: EASY = 25 BPM - 50 BPM MEDIUM = 55 BPM - 95 BPM HARD = 100 BPM - 150 BPM EXPERT = 155 BPM - 250 BPM I was making 2 "songs" for each part, for HALF SPEED, and FULL SPEED, that way if you cant beat it on FULL, you can slow it down and try it

Why don't you cart them in fruity loops to ensure perfect accuracy? Just copy your midi onto a new track and move the notes to all be within C8 to E8 (green to orange).

EDIT: do you mean "chart" in FruityLoops?? i was making charts in FL and then using this layout to make a dB chart....if there is an easier way...please tell

You can make a playable .mid in fruity loops very easily. I don't habve the program myself but the principle is the same. Duplicate the guitar midi track and delete the virtual instrument on ir (that's making the guitar sound). Then, move each midi mote between C8 and E8 for ecpect dififculty (easier dificulties are an octave below- C7 for hard, 6 for medium, 5 for easy). C8 is the green fret, C# is red, D is yellow, D# is blue and E is orange. Just arrange them so all the midi notes are in C8 to E8 and export/save that track as a .mid. Then, make the song.ini and the .ogg(s) in your songs folder and it should work. That's how I do all my fretting.

i am assuming that i would have to export the created track to a wav or ogg, then do the track copying for the mid?? lol....i will mess with it and see what i can come up with......thanks everyone for the input so far

No, you just leave the created track in place and make a replica midi track.

Glad someone else is getting good use from the midi sequencer-fretting approach. It took me a while to learn how it works.

i am going to sticky this because it might make a good in-game tutorial when you are done. it is a little bit more special than the other packs. if any mods disagree feel free to unsticky.

well sorta one of the main reasons i unstickied my setlist is because little work is being done on it, and therefor progress is moving SLOW. lol so i mean it would be a good idea to work on it but don't push yourself too hard.

I could record an actual tapping track for y'all, seeing as how that is the only thing I am goog at on a real guitar. I was thinking a very slow one, a medium speed one, and an effing fast one. Lemme know. I could also actually talk on the track to give advice.

Yeah, do that. I think you could split it into 2 note tapping and 3 note taping. 4 notes is pushing it a bit.

i like how after we organized everything, there has been a lot (well okay not a ton but more than usual) of work been done on stuff like this. i think it would be awesome if vizharan was our "spokesperson" for tutiorials, i mean gh3 has brett michaels and the sex pistols, and fof has jurgen, so we would kind of need one for us too. truthfully this whole thing is a good idea, thot so since day 1. EDIT:: Linking this and the Kid Jamz (nvrmind) song pack to my everything thread in song packs.
