i assume by skill meter you mean the rock meter and sorry i have gh3 and it does decrease the same amount while you have star power it just increases 3 times faster so it seems like it doesnt decrease

OK, I have chaecked it and you are right. It does decrease but as you sey I was confused because it increases faster.
And one more thing. In the game I cannot see the diference between normal notes and HoPo notes. Is it a bug or is a problem of my computer??
Thanks again.

Yes, i have the same problem to differ the normal and the HOPOs when using the original notes, griguol.. but you can find notes with clearer hopos from the submissions section.

What about having the possibility to create a setlist almost like the old setlist.dat? i'm figuring a setlist.xml looking something like this:
<TierTitle>1. This is the name of the 1st tier</TierTitle> <SongPath>SONGS\GH3\Lay Down\</SongPath> <SongPath>SONGS\GH2\Sweet Child\</SongPath> <TierTitle>2. This is the name of the 2nd tier<TierTitle> <SongPath>.....
If we could put this in a folder named for example "My Favourites" inside the songs-folder, it would pick out all the songs you entered. The pros are: - Save space by using only one copy of each song. - Have the same high score liste for the song wherever you enter it from.
This is of course not a important feature, but i think it would be great to have it..

i hope the option to have the songlist sorted by foldername is also on your list cali, i loved being able to play the songs ordered by difficulty like in the original GH games, i hope i dont have to revert back to a setlist just to have them oredered correctly again, the favorites list is an awesome idea as well. i had always envisioned it as like "press orange to que" on the songlist would add a song to your que, then you could play without having to scroll everywhere to find the songs you play most...just a though. but i would love to have the songlist sorted by foldername, it was in the first few betas, i hope its easy enough to reimpliment. thank you callisto!

ConfusingboatThe link doesn't work(?!), but we'll definitely figure something out regarding the song uploading. Once you actually find a server, perhaps we can spend a bit of time testing the feature together before it is released? Probably I'll have a comment or two about what information I'd like to see stored and also you're likely to have some requests about what you'd like to be sent.

This may be an odd and pointless request..
but is there anyway you could support .rar or .zips in the song directory?
for the ultimately lazy person it was save them from unzipping 40 million songs (i know you can do it all at the same time but it gets messy)
just a thought

See what you mean Hzac, when you download the FoF packs and GH song packs there all .rar'ed. But, im sure theres a mass extraction thing out there somewhere. I think the paid version of winrar might actually do it.

I think the paid version of winrar might actually do it. It does. Just move the file to the song directory, select a bunch and right click any file and select "Extract Here". I don't even think you need the full version, it's just the one I have.

id like to request the option to select the guitar or coop tracks when playing single player, that way a person could practce the bass without playing multiplayer mode....just a thought.

a tiny thing that have anoyed me for a while is that the stars that appears on the setlist is placed a bit low compared to the actual song. if your setlist doesn't have lines, it may be hard to tell if it's the actual song or the one below it having the score...

The new Bata update 4 is really great It only needs thye shifting sound for the whammy and please add a top score feature. I would like to enter my name when I'm in the top five scores. Good work so far !!! That's now my favorite game. Better than FOF

Thank you, I just changed my name in the config file.
But it's not very practical when you play with friends. I can't exit the game after each song to change the player name...
That's why I would like to enter my name when my score is in the top five. It would also be great if the last name became default for the next time. So if I play alone, I don't need to type the name again but just hit enter. This feature is in FOF.

Would also be great if the highscore and the top player were on the song list. Instead of the stars or added to them.

This game is really coming along now So i got a few questions for you callisto; - When will you change the values on the scoremeterrockmeter when you hit and miss notes? - When will we be able to change font colors? - How's the progress with the alpha-channels for the notes? I don't need an exact answer, just a pointer. hope these features are in your plans. Keep up the good work!!!

Does anyone know how GZ handles SP notes when your SP activation runs out?
For example:
In GH3, if your SP runs out in the middle of a SP phrase, the phrase stays as normal notes and doesn't change back to SP notes.
I haven't really investigated this very closely, but it feels like GZ switches the notes back to SP and allows you to complete the phrase.
Ideas?

In GZ if you hit two SP phrases it you can use it. If SP runs out in the middle of a phrase you can still finish the phrase and get 1/2 SP needed to activate (1 phrase).

There's few things that would make Guitar Star perfect in my mind. 1) It seems to be on your list, but I'm not 100% what you mean by that, maybe exactly this, but anyway: strummable HO/POs, in sections where there's fast alt-strumming and HO/POs, they're impossible to hit for some reasons, and even strumming the HO/POs is hard. I like the HO/POs though, when it's only HOPOs. Also, I'm not sure if it's the small lag or the game, but on fast strumming sections it seems like I'm not hitting the notes. edit: It seems to occurs when there's fast alt-strumming and then HOPO and I miss. 2) Notestreak / Notes Hit / Total Notes. 3) When you whammy like as much as you can the widening note is same, it doesn't "vibrate" if you know what I mean. You have to whammy only little if you want it to do that so a change to that would be nice also if possible edit. 4) Delay to practice mode, I mean, the section starts right away, maybe 2 second delay to that.

themagicianWelcome to the community. Regarding your requests: 1) How do know what's on my list? Honestly, I'm not quite sure what kind of change you're requesting? So, WHAT do you want me to do? 2) Yep, I just don't seem to get around to these. Actually, I would if someone came up with a (copyright-free) background for a newspaper, which I could fill. 3) Yep, but that's the same in the real GH games, so it's not a bug. 4) Actually, there is a 1 or 2 (I'm not sitting in front of the code right now) delay before the selected section in practice mode starts. Bye, Callisto

themagician1) How do know what's on my list? Honestly, I'm not quite sure what kind of change you're requesting? So, WHAT do you want me to do? Bye, Callisto I too would like it. He wants it so you can strum a Ho/Po. It seems when you try to strum a ho/po, you miss 90% of the time, unless you strum ahead of time. If you've ever tried to strum ho/pos you would know what I'm talking about. There's songs that it's easier to not use the HoPos that's in the song, and just strum instead, but you can't due to the game not really allowing you to.

Bye, Callisto 1) Exactly what txf said. And also, I mean the list on the first post ^_^ 3) Well it's pretty good, but on GZ you have to press the whammy bar like 1cm down and the note widens as much as it can, unlike on GH where you actually have to push the whammy bar all the way down. Or at least very close. 4) Well if that's true then something's messed up =/ For example if you pick a part that's just fast alt-strumming you'll miss on full speed at least the first 20 or so notes. * VIDEO IS UPLOADING OF #4 *

Callisto: 2. I'm sure evilcheez or stranxk could easily edit their score pngs to include those spots. 4. If you play a section in practice mode, then you replay it right after, the game screen freezes, and the music starts, then when it unfreezes in a second or two, the note just pops right up immediatly in front of the fretbuttons, making it hard to hit.
txf: I agree with the strummable HO/POs, I think because the game has a loose timing window, if you don't strum early it recognizes the note being hit already by holding down the fret.
