Donation was worth every penny, especially when it syncs up and works perfectly like I'll explain here. I'm geekin out big time! ;D Tools I used: VLC Windows Movie Maker Here's a quick how-to for Welcome to the jungle... It's worth it... trust me... -Find a GOOD quality video on youtube (or other). Try a few, not all youtube videos are alike, there are many youtube video grabbing sites. Here's the video I used: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYRC4H64EFk-Paste that link into the video grabber like this one: www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/It will save it as get_video, so rename to Stage.flv. -Open VLC and open that file. Then File / Wizard, select Transcode/Save to File. Transcode Video WMV3, mp3 for audio and Encapsulation, use ASF. -Someone can help with this step: (I'm sure vlc can strip audio?) Load into Movie Maker and set Audio to Mute. Cut off any extra beginning video (if needed) then Publish as "For My Computer". -Copy to the song folder and rename to Stage.wmv (or .avi) change config.xml to <Stage>Video</Stage> Thats it! Some videos are just a little off on the sound, but this video (atleast on my PC) is dead on. WOW..

Also, everyone should be aware that a 4 minute 800x600 WMV encoded video with no sound is around 50-80mb, so it'll add up if you do a video for every song.

640x448 isn't very high - So if you're wanting to use a background video of Guitar Hero footage you may want to use 800x600 or higher

Yeah, same thing happens to me. Running GuitarStar is taxing on a system as-is, but adding a full-screen video slows things way down.
If you're interested, my specs are: 3ghz Pentium 4 1.5 GB DDR2 Ram 128mb ATI Radeon x300
In my case it's my graphics card that's slowing me down. I wouldn't recommend trying to run a fullscreen video with anything less than a 512mb card.

hi! thanks for replying!
I'm using Beta 6 Update 1, i put the video (stage.avi) in the folder of the song and rename <Stage>Animated2D</Stage> to <Stage>video</Stage> in the config.xml and save the changes, but when i run the guitarstar.exe the 2dstage appears again and the config.xml goes <Stage>Animated2D</Stage> back...
xDD
thanks again!

I wonder if there is a way to have a different video for each song... that way it seems more interesting!

What do you mean no? It sure can have a different video for each song. Read it again, if you put it into each song's folder and name it stage.avi it will play that video for that song. That way you could make your stage the music video for every song.
