Well, you're already used to quick updates now, so why stop here Ok, I'm fixing some things in my new build process and figured I might fix the most urgent bugs at the same time. So, here's Update 4a: rapidshare.com/files/99985215/GZ_Beta_4_-_Update_4a.rarChanges: 15/03/08 - Beta 4 - Update 3 - Added Coop Multiplayer - Fixed a crash on starting the game when no appropriate Managed DirectInput libraries are available - Fixed training mode showing the end statistics immediately after song start - Reduced number of initially allocated sound channels to 8, hopefully reducing sound problems for some people - Now locating tracks in .mid files based on the track name - Grouping less notes to chords during .mid loading - Improved highscore loading on the setlist, hopefully reducing crashes for some people - Fixed crash when showing an error message that contains non-english characters - Only playing one of the background song tracks, if rhythm.ogg and song.ogg are the same file 15/03/08 - Beta 4 - Update 4 - Fixed a number of bugs reported by darthslaw 16/03/08 - Beta 4 - Update 4a - Further reduced the time between notes before they are reduced to chords in .mid files - Fixed slow down in training mode not working - Fixed highscore saving - Fixed guitar track being muted completely on missed notes @modders: In order to update your mods, you have to: 1. Add a new SavedMenuLayout to your menus.xml: <SavedMenuLayout id="MultiplayerTrackScene"> <Background> <File>MultiplayerTrackMenuBackground.png</File> <X>center</X> <Y>center</Y> </Background> </SavedMenuLayout> 2. Set the ModVersion property in SavedMenuConfig to "1.1" 3. Update your Text_MultiplayerMode.png to include Coop 4. Mod the MultiplayerTrackMenuBackground.png file Also, config.xml has changed slightly, so the game is likely to create a new one, when you start the update.

esc0rtd3wYes, the Ms means "Milliseconds". What the option does is: GS forces the guitar and song track to be synchronuous within the number of milliseconds named in that option. An optimal value for this option is also determined by your soundcard, because: - If you put that value too low, you might have asynchronuous tracks - If you put it too high, the game will stutter because it will constantly pause/resume the audio in order to try and sync it

skizot: need to "have an option" to stop star power notes from spinning. Otherwise GH3/GH2/etc notes won't work right Also need to allow for the glowy thing on the Ho/Po <.<

seems to be a bug with hopos i couldn't work out why i kept missing then a realised there are some hopos that only work when strummed
easily noticable with the gh3 song bulls on parade using the chart version, a lot of the hopos in that song don't work

Ok its cool now that there are song sections for GH2 mids and GHE mids but there aren't for the GH(1) mids. Also the notes appear to be more spaced out during SP activated, but that could just be me.

fatdogI know theres some songs that have Ho/Pos in Guitar Hero 3, that are after a long note. From a long note to a Ho/Po..because Guitar Hero 3 Supports long notes to hopos. And I think GZ Is based more on GH2s HoPo system, which doesn't support it. If that made sence XD

I've also noticed something about the hopo's. in gh 1,2 and 80's, you'll never see a hopo after a chord (2 parallell notes), but you do in gh3. When i play some of the gh1/2/80's offical .mid, i see them around. Also a lot of times i see one singel sp note inbetween a lots of notes?
Shouldn't gs just read the .mid, and display them as they're there? Or doesn't the .mid say exactly where the sp's and hopo's are, so that the engine in gs has to figure/calculate their posistions?

txf - what your describing sounds like what im talking about i guess the work around would be to force it to draw a normal note after a long note if the game isn't going to support the gh3 system
hopefully both systems could work together eventually, maybe a tag on the songs that use the gh3 rule set

hulk haugen your way off there man in gh2 play woman or laid to rest both have hopos after chords not long held chords but after chords really? that's one of the things i noticed as a new feature in gh3... Haven't been playing gh2 for a while since my disc got fatal scratches, but never noticed a hopo after a chord..

fatdogI'm not quite sure whether I understand you correctly. We don't have a hopo issue then?
