JD2504: k thnx fr the info. O ya the BPM in the songs that hav nothing but hopo's are off. i'm pretty sure it's not GZ's fault, becuz on the songs that have weird hopo's/tempos, the guy who's providing the songs went and screwed around with the "Big Rock ending." I kno this becuz on most songs with a big rock ending, there are no notes where the ending is. However, on the songs with the tempo messed up, there is always a big rock ending part with notes where the big rock ending should be (in other words, there's notes there but there shouldn't be). And none of the songs without a big rock ending have messed up hopo's.

really nice update! may not seem like a whole lot to the guys who made it, but it IS pretty awesome. Like the fact that fretboards now have the ability for curved BPM lines. It looked kinda messy b4.

Well, the frets on fire Rock Band/Guitar hero 3 mods both look better than GS's, but we're starting to come damn close, and I can't even play frets on fire because of the ridiculous timing and bad...just gameplay execution.
I'm extremely pleased to see Guitar Star at the forefront of beauty and gameplay, great job =).
As a side note, I know Calliisto has plenty to do, but you could ask him about adding an option for a rockband meter, like the one in frets on fire. Like a "rockmeter: Guitar Hero, or rockmeter:Rockband option" It'd be neat.

o.0 really? did u try it with the rockband fretboad? if u try it with a diferent fretboard can be a little hard to see them but, with the RB one i can distinguish them perfectly

I love how people complain about it being hard to see the HoPos, yet they're actually like that in rock band. Then if you do change them to be more noticable, people complain about them not being accurate. Can't please everyone I guess. Personally, I like them more accurate, and can see them just fine. Thanks for the update also. Downloading it now.

JD2504 yes, im using the rocband fretboard, the notes isnt your problem (they're actually like that in rock band) so, is my problem XD. txf im not telling "make it more noticable" just, i cant see them very good (i dont play at full-screen because is less sharpness (desktop resolution 1440x900 vs 800x600 XD ) ) ps: i never have played rock band (its just my opinion)

I play using 800x600 <.< Anyway. One thing I noticed you haven't done yet, is change the "selected song" overlay thing. "SetlistSelection.png". I modded mine, I just replaced it with the one from the rock band FOF mod xD I'd post it, but I dunno if anyone cares about things being taking from a FoF mod. If you don't care, I'll upload it and post it

is there really a difference between how u play HoPos and normal notes? i dont know but i just hit every note the same, didnt know they were really that important that they needed to be 100% distinguished...
also, sweet update jd, i love the curved fretboard!

the hopos dont need to be strumed D:

I thought everyone knew what a HoPo did..wow. A HoPo can be played, without being strummed, as long as you hit the note before it. So you can strum a note, then "Hammer On/Pull off" to the next note(play it without strumming). Obviously, it has to be a HoPo in order to use..hopos...xD

Wow jd2504! That looks awesome. I have a few suggestions on Ho/Po's and the rock meter. WARNING!!! EXTREMELY LONG POST!!!!First, Ho/Po's; i personally think the Ho/Po's are good enough to play with, but sum people complain about them being "un-noticeable," so here's my proposal. They are already shorter lengthwise: <-------> - Normal <-----> - Hopo Why not also make them slightly shorter from top to bottom/the place where the note and fretboard meet? Just by even 2 or 3 pixels i think wuld make them stand out a significantly larger amount from normal notes. Second, the rock meter; the base for it could just be the guitar icon like at the guitar/bass option in practice mode. Then there could be a white stick coming out of it. There's no "rock" words, the stick just points upwards to a completely seperate box outlined in white or black and it glows just like the glowing parts of the GH rock meter. sort of like this: _________________________ |_______|________|_______| ----------------------/-/ ---------------------/-/ --------------------/-/ -------------------/-/ -----------------/-/ ___________/-/ /------------------\ /--------------------\ |----Guitar Icon----| |--------Here-------| \-------------------/ \____________/
Sorry fr the bad drawing, don't feel like getting into paint or gimp to show you what i mean. O ya, b4 i forget.... The bg should be one with mostly shades of deep an light blues along with whites and blacks. That's just how most of the Rock Band stages are (aside from a few like the one for green grass and high tides). Right now i think its a shade or orange or red, and guitar hero is the game that uses mostly red, yellow and orange stages. Plz remember tho, that this is merely constructive criticism. This mod already looks awesome. ;D

JD2504: thnx fr reading the post/considering those options. ha great minds think alike i guess. ya i'll see if i can find a good image. I found one not to long ago and resized it to 800x600. It's in submissions with the other stuff i posted. But if i look around enough i think i culd find a better one. hzac: eh idk, that's really EXACTLY how the word "score" looks in rb. or, lol, if ur talking about the #'s, they could maybe be resized, but it looks good like it is.
