My ingame 'game' options dont work? That not working for anyone else? No. My guess is that it wasn't implemented in time. You can still edit most stuff in the xml file.

About config:
There are things in brackets, like:
<LeftyMode>false</LeftyMode>
If you want Lefty Mode on, change false to true. It's the same for other options. Since this is a beta, maybe we'll have access to more functions in the final.

i fixed my own problem, i just simply plugged in a ps2 controller and found out which buttons corresponded to the guitar buttons. mapped them in game with the controller and saved the settings. then unplugged the controller plug in the guitar and kazaam. works great. although.... when trying to map the buttons, i had to hold the corresponding button before i pressed enter in the options. works fine though. Is there any way you could upload your config.xml file to Rapidshare or Megaupload or anywhere. I have the same setup as you (Super Dual Box Pro and a PS2 guitar) but I don't have a Playstation 2 controller to do this workaround. I'd really appreciate it. Or at least posting on here what the config.xml file says in the Input section would probably do the trick as well, then I can just copy and paste it into mine. I sent you a PM too, this is just incase you don't see it. -------------------------- As for the beta, from what I played it seems great. Though I noticed when trying multiplayer, on the difficulty selection screen, I can't go any further. When I press Enter to select one, it just moves up. Is it just not fully implemented yet?

My PS2 to USB controller doesnt work. It picks it up, but very rarely and when it does its usually the wrong button. For GZ I it works just fine though.
I use a standard PS2 guitar, and my device hookup is the "EMS USB2 DUALSHOOTER".
Shrug.

@broken .dats Again, perhaps someone can POST a broken .dat file and use that specific file to highlight the problems? infinitalusUse a joystick/keyboard converter for now. @bob78h, flipsk8r1409 I don't know for sure, but if the XNA ContentBuilder is crashing on you, it might mean that something with your XNA/.NET/DirectX - installation is broken. Try running the DirectX Web Installer? I tried it and it's running ok for me. hzacThere simply is no ingame "game options" menu yet, that's why it's not displayed.

flipsk8r1409As for the transparent notes, I assume that your graphics card does not support shader model 2.0? Maybe updating its drivers might help, but my best bet is that your card is simply too old? What GFX do you have? As for the rest: Why do you have .NET 3.5 installed? My first post (as well as the requirements for the Content Builder) say that you should get .NET 2.0. Have a look at this FAQ and be sure to follow it forums.xna.com/thread/9924.aspx (i.e. notice how it advises you to use the DirectX WEB(!) Installer)

yes my video card only has shader model 1.4 but thats no excuse its easy to code shaders that still support it. im getting a new video card tomorrow anyway but other people here want to be able to play the game too but anyway on the content builder thing i tried all that and it keeps crashing on me i dont know why it just does maybe its a hardware incompatibility or something (seems quite common on my computer) oh and ps what kind of shader is it for the models and is there a way to disable it?

flipsk8r1409The games uses shader 2.0 and it is (obviously) already disabled on your computer, which is why you don't see the models.

flipsk8r1409 and anybody else that may have the "phantom notes" problem. If you go into the 'textures' folder and make a copy of 'stagebackground.xnb" and paste it in the resources folder or basically anywhere as it will be your backup stage background file. Now, make a copy of "blank.xnb" and rename it to 'stagebackground.xnb" and paste it in the "textures" folder over the original stage background, so youll have a plain white backround, and the notes will come up white... it makes the game VERY playable this way instead of the invisible holes in the fretboard. btw... whats wrong with this game? I just beat Jordan on expert and didnt fail!!!! thats not supposed to happend.

Now I can beat hard solos on songs that i couldn't beat before(hangar 18, freebird, jordan)

Yeah, the HOPOs actually use the GH3 logic to determine whether a HOPO's hit or not

flipsk8r1409Well, the "problem" here is that a shader (in the original sense) is not something that is "applied" to the model, it is the software program that is actually RENDERING the model. Post-processing shaders (probably the ones you mean) are just a very small subset of all shaders. So it's not as easy as just disabling it. I might look into doing some Shader 1.1 compatibility, but I'd rather have a look at what other bugs people are finding first, considering this isn't really a bug but rather by design.

hastyl3When you're saying the game crashed after pressing "down" too often, which message does it give? I assume you're pressing "down" in the setlist?
